Content Licensing & Strategy: Director of Sales

We are searching for a Director of Sales, Streaming and Licensing to join our Content Licensing & Strategy team in our West Los Angeles office. This role will focus on driving monetization of library and new release content, including both film and television across our streaming and licensing partners. The successful candidate will have past partnership management and sales experience in the OTT/ VOD space, be a savvy market analyst, proactive, creative thinker, ability to foster relationships, highly motivated and passionate about film and television. This is a full-time position.

SVP, Content Licensing

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the SVP of Streaming & Content Strategy, the Director of Sales will manage a portfolio of AVOD channel partners, elevate content and ensure maximum revenue
  • Exploit available rights with key partners, pitch FAST channels as well as execute SVOD/ licensing deals
  • Oversee key relationships with streaming partners and liaise and serve as point person to communicate with key partners to pitch, avail, license content and negotiate on platform promotions to highlight content and drive revenue
  • Lead conversations with partners on all distribution marketing efforts and stunts
  • Work closely with management to define and execute on long term monetization strategy across platforms and channels
  • Foster client facing relationships and achieve revenue sales targets
  • Utilize data driven analytics to monitor performance and optimize engagement across partners
  • Present data-baked strategic thinking, weigh in on new initiatives and collaborate with internal teams to execute
  • Set, implement and streamline operational workflows and process improvements
  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize content (marketing, operations, finance, creative services etc.)
  • Onboard new partners and identify new business opportunities
  • Stay informed on the latest AVOD/SVOD/FAST trends and rapidly shifting marketplace

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience with licensing and distribution experience across broadcast, pay TV, cable network, SVOD and/or OTT linear and have key existing relationships within the current OTT/ VOD landscape
  • Experience with business analysis and using data to inform programming and drive strategy
  • Confidence working with analytic dashboards and strong analytic skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent pitching and presentation skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to assure successful interaction with all levels of employees and external contacts
  • Strong organizational, time management and follow-through skills
  • Careful attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TEAMS
  • Deep knowledge of Film/TV content
