Associate Vice President, Accounting Operations

We are searching for an AVP, Accounting Operations to join our team in this newly created role. This opportunity will provide the right candidate with responsibility for enhancing workflow efficiency and accuracy for a busy Accounting team. The role will also work closely with our Royalties and Finance teams to ensure the smooth exchange of data between functions as well as foster relationships with internal and external partners. The successful candidate must possess strong analytical and organizational skills and will be able to work both independently and collaboratively with the team. A passion for entertainment, music, film, or television is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for enhancing the following Accounting functions, initiatives, & special projects:
  • Develop Accounting procedures and processes and data review to improve accuracy and efficiency of data input and enhance controls.
  • Formalized review of completed quarterly financial results, including narrative report.
  • Pursue projects to improve efficiency (e.g., automating payments)
  • Year-end review and drafting of audited financial statement package.
  • Develop and set up NetSuite dashboards and reporting for users
  • Other special projects in Royalties, Accounting and Finance, as assigned, e.g., develop use of digital revenue processing tools, linear programming revenue allocation, owned asset P&Ls.

 

  • Responsible for the following functions (currently being performed by the SVP Finance):
  • Ensure quarterly royalty accruals are consistent with revenues reported in financials
  • Work with VP Royalties to complete and review annual Royalties reconciliation
  • Work with the VP Finance & Reporting on the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Long range plan updates and other projects as applicable
  • Bank payment approvals under a certain limit
  • Creation / maintenance of quarterly financial package and integrate with NetSuite
  • Borrowing Base computations
  • Completion of audit analysis schedules
  • Completion of tax analysis schedules and quarterly tax estimates
  • 401(K) administration
  • Insurance tasks and renewals
  • Other projects as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Minimum 5 years in Public Accounting, Internal Audit and/or Accounting and Finance
  • Strong analytical, systems and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal & interpersonal communications and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both remotely and in-person with an LA-based Finance team
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
  • Ready for the challenges of this rapid growth opportunity
  • NetSuite experience will be strongly preferred
