Shout! Factory is searching for a Publicity Intern for Summer 2017. The publicity department is a four person, busy team giving an intern ample opportunity to get hands-on experience in all areas of entertainment publicity. A successful candidate is extremely organized, proactive, and assertive; additionally, he/she will also have a strong interest in developing a career in entertainment publicity. This is a paid, part-time position lasting for three months, with a 3 day weekly commitment, for a total of 21 hours per week. Pay rate is $12/hour.


Responsibilities:

Compile press clips

Research new outlets and contacts

Assist in updating/maintaining press contact database

Complete press mailings

Re-organize the publicity product cabinet

Assist with writing press materials

Assist with maintaining online press room


Requirements:

Knowledge of home entertainment industry and platforms is a plus;

Previous internship experience in publicity is preferred;

A major in public relations or communications preferred;

Experience with FileMaker Pro, Cision, and mail merges is preferred;

Strong interest and appreciation for entertainment and pop culture is preferred;

Ability to take direction and work well with others is required;

Excellent verbal/written communications, organizational and interpersonal skills is required;

A high proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.

Sales Intern


Shout! Factory is searching for a Sales/Ecommerce Intern for summer 2017. The sales/ecommerce department is a three person team giving an intern a great opportunity to get hands-on experience in many areas. A successful candidate is proactive, organized and will be someone who has a keen eye for detail. This is a paid, part-time position lasting up to three months, with a 2-1/2 day weekly commitment, for a total of up to 21 hours per week. Pay rate is $12/hour.


Responsibilities:

Updating the DCL efactory database with additional data; must have an ability to learn how to navigate the backend of a website

Manage various excel documents; must understand how to enter data into Excel, move data around (filter), add and delete columns/rows without errors

Monitoring and testing the new website (QC and proofing)

Entering data in FilmTrack (rights management system); ie. adding awards information into each product profile using various sources

Limited administrative tasks including large mailings


Requirements:

Experience with mail merges is preferred;

Strong interest and appreciation for entertainment and pop culture is preferred;

Ability to take direction and work well with others is required;

Excellent verbal/written communications, organizational and interpersonal skills is required;

A high proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel is required.
