Coordinator, Business and Legal Affairs


Shout! Factory is seeking a Coordinator, Business and Legal Affairs to work in our BA department. The position is a full time, entry level, non-exempt, hourly position. The Coordinator will be the organizational and directional foundation of the department. This position tracks ongoing negotiations, manages the flow of contracts within the department, and maintains the internal filing systems while providing administrative support for the entire department. The candidate will become familiar with a wide variety of contracts. A successful candidate for this role must be highly organized with a keen eye for detail, have excellent communication skills and follow-through abilities and be a self-described self-starter.

This position is an excellent opportunity for anyone who would like to work on the business side of the entertainment or music industries. This position is not intended for an attorney.


Reports to: SVP, Business and Legal Affairs

Responsibilities:

Track deals from offer stage to fully-executed document

Enter, monitor and update the information in our rights management database (FilmTrack)

Coordinate all contract administration; tracking information and ensuring all actions taken and parties paid; liaising with Accounting and Royalties to ensure timely payments are made; enter payment requests into the accounting system (NetSuite)

Create and submit invoice requests to Accounting for 3rd party licensing deals; contact record labels and/or music publishing entities to receive and process all music licensing payments due in the accounting system (NetSuite)

Answer phones, manage schedule and complete expense reports for the SVP Business Affairs; responding to BA related inquiries via the website; and other administrative duties as required


Skills & Qualifications:

Must have 3+ years of working experience; experience in entertainment or a similar industry is preferred.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs; must have experience entering data with a high level of accuracy.

Must be highly organized with an outstanding attention to detail.

Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to relay information to all levels of personnel both inside and outside the company.

Prior contract administration and/or business affairs experience is preferred, but not required.

Experience working in FilmTrack is preferred, but not required.
