The Evolution of Box Art - The Middleman |

Have you ever gone to the store to pick up a CD or DVD and wondered how the label / company decided to go with the packaging? We can tell you that the decision is not always obvious or easy. For The Middleman DVD release, we were presented with a treasure trove of options.
For the initial round, we directed Los Angeles design firm Kustom Creative to have fun with the art since the show was so quirky and witty. Also, unlike many of the DVDs we release, this one was current and had LOADS of digital assets from the set and cast. These were the spectacular results.

For round 2, we narrowed it down to three basic directions and color palettes. Because we liked the initial explorations so much, it was difficult to choose just one. In the end, we decided that we liked the more conceptual route best, which featured the shadow of an alien in the background.

Ultimately, we preferred the action pose over all else and felt the blue was the perfect finishing touch. We hope you agree!
