Based on real police cases in and around the city of Los Angeles, Season Six lands the officers in helicopters, on horseback and on airport patrol in locations ranging from the foothills to Venice Beach. The boys in blue have their work cut out for them when they face teenage robbers, angry dogs, a drunken boat cook, bomb threats, armed carjackers and more. Season 6 guest stars include Jayne Meadows, Joe E Tata, Sondra Currie, Andrew Stevens, Kip Niven and Sharon Gless.
Adam-12 was a spin-off of the popular NBC TV series Dragnet and similarly portrayed incidents and situations that were based on real LAPD cases. Best-selling author and prolific television producer Stephen J. Cannell (The Rockford Files, The Greatest American Hero, The A-Team, 21 Jump Street) joined the series in Season 4 as head writer and was promoted to Executive Story Consultant in Season 5. The show ran for seven seasons on NBC from 1968 – 1975 and was in heavy syndication on TV Land through 2005, attracting a new generation of fans.
