Los Angeles, CA - Majordomo Records, a division of Shout! Factory, is proud to announce today that it has teamed up with scuzz-blues pioneers The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion for a unique reissue campaign beginning in March 2010. The Blues Explosion’s catalog will join Shout! Factory’s elite, eclectic roster, which houses Rhett Miller, the Von Bondies, Richard Thompson, Miles Kurosky and Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs, among others.
On stage and in the studio, Jon Spencer has destroyed and rebuilt American roots music with such ferocity and wild abandon it is hard to believe that there is anything left. The trail of musical destruction he created with his legendary group Pussy Galore still smolders in the avant punk blues and nasty garage grind of the Blues Exposion, whose incredible, innovative output remains an indelible totem to his enormous mojo spirit and red-hot power of deliverance.

Of the signing, Spencer says, “I’m very excited to be releasing the Blues Explosion albums with Shout! Factory. I’m impressed with the quality of material that Shout! releases as well as their attention to detail.” Adds Spencer, “For me, it’s been a wild ride working on the reissues. There is a lot of power in the grooves of these records. The Blues are still No. 1.”
Kicking off the campaign will be "Dirty Shirt Rock N’ Roll: The First Ten Years," a compilation featuring the band's best recordings, which will street on March 30. Reissues of the newly remastered original albums will follow, with rare and unreleased bonus tracks, new liner notes and photos. All titles will also be available digitally, many for the first time.
Majordomo Records is an imprint of Shout! Factory that has released albums by The Airborne Toxic Event, the Von Bondies and Earlimart, offering artists a unique combination of an indie label’s dedication and commitment with a major label’s resources, including distribution via the Sony Music distribution network.
