THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND: "THE NEXT ADVENTURE": 4/3/2007

LOS ANGELES, CA -- The Marshall Tucker Band, a vital sound of the South in their fourth decade of music-making, debut their latest album, The Next Adventure, from Ramblin’ Records and Shout! Factory. The new CD harkens back to the band’s classic albums, with friends and family invited into the studio during recording. Gabrielle Gray (band-member Doug Gray’s daughter) duets with Chris Hicks on “I Love You That Way” and Clay Cook (Doug’s nephew) plays steel guitar and contributes background vocals on several tracks. Joining on keyboards are old friends Melvin Seals (writer of “Travelin’ Man”) and original Marshall Tucker Band producer Paul Hornsby. The Next Adventure will be available June 19, 2007 for the suggested list price of $18.98.

The mix of songs on The Next Adventure is a Tucker fan’s dream come true. “Why Am I Crying?” was written by legendary original member Toy Caldwell. Three are songs penned by original member George McCorkle, “The Guitar Playing Man,” “Jesus Never Had A Motorcycle,” and “I Love You That Way,” all classic additions to the Marshall Tucker Band songbook.

The impressive musicianship on display in the current Marshall Tucker Band lineup owes much to seasoned guitarists Chris Hicks and Stuart Swanlund, David Muse on sax, flute, and keyboards, B.B. Borden on drums and Pat Ellwood on bass. Add the signature vocals of founding member Doug Gray, and the Marshall Tucker Band sound continues to evolve without losing its original, eclectic blend of blues, jazz, rock, country, and pop.
