Comments on: Shout! Popcast #19 – Herb Alpert - Rise

The Shout! Factory Popcast (for the discerning pop culture geek) is a weekly podcast that digs deep into the artists who grace the label with their fantastic music, and on occasion we explore the music of other artists as well. Plenty of unreleased tracks, alternate takes and inside information that you may not have ever heard before.

I can't begin to thank you guys for re-releasing this album! I am 34 years old, and I've been a Herb Alpert fan -- specifically RISE -- since I was six years old and my dad came home with the LP. That LP is scratched and warped and miles away now. And my head was in a different place when it was first released on CD, so I missed it... When I tried to track it down as an adult, all I could find was imports of dubious origin at ridiculous prices. "Rise" and "Rotation" could be garnered from the web, but that's it. Now, thanks to Shout Factory, I have a pristine copy of this artifact of my childhood. What a trip down memory lane, and what nostalgia every dulcet tone of Alpert's horn invokes! Thanks, guys!!
