Diff'rent Strokes Season 3 is Coming to DVD July 17
Okay, okay zaxxar, take it easy.
You're right and we're wrong. We don't get it.
I guess we'll have to buy the stuff we DON'T care about in order to get the stuff we DO want. Okay, that's the gameplan. You've made that point so crystal clear.
Very smart move, Bob. Acting like you know the company so well when in reality, you don't.
If you really wanna know why some of your favorite titles from Shout have been stalled at the moment, go to the What's the Hold-up FAQ on tvshowsondvd.
If you truly believe that Shout never cared about money until now, you are so damn ignorant it's not even funny. THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT MONEY!
Excuse the snarkniess everyone, it's just that some people don't get it.
I agree with Colton. SHOUT will sucker you into buying this release, then offer the next season as a "SHOUT Select." Then poof, end of releasing more seasons to complete the series. Leaving you high and dry like they have with Rhoda, Facts of Life, etc., etc., etc.
It is really sad what was once a great company, has become just like the others.
No matter how frustrating a stalled show is, the only thing that's to blame is lack of interest... and not on Shout's part. If you like a series that much, buy the seasons and gift boxsets to your nearest and dearest. I do see FOL coming out at some point too, but you need to build a demand for it.
I think you're wrong. Shout just doesn't have the time and money to pursue more releases of those shows. right now. Does it mean they don't want to? Absolutely not. I'm sure they would love nothing better than to finish those shows, and the two from Fox that are currently stalled (Rhoda and Mr. Belvedere).
I do wonder if they got the remaining seasons, or just a couple like with Facts of Life. I am very disappointed that Facts of Life has been stalled. I really want those remaining seasons! I just have the feeling Diff'rent Strokes will suffer the same fate.
I'm willing to bet Diff'rent Strokes is going to suffer the same fate as Mad About You. Two releases then they're finished. Also you guys can forget about more Facts Of Life. Shout has gone downhill with their releases.
Hey, if they do well with "Diff'rent Strokes", I bet you before long we will see continued releases of "The Facts of Life". I'm still holding out hope for this show. So, buy your copies!
Very exciting news to see that Shout! has come to the rescue again for another classic show! I hope that this is the start of a very successful run for "Diff'rent Stokes" seeing completion on DVD. Great work to Shout! Factory for pulling this off.
The cover art says 22 original episodes so if the one hour episodes are included in their original format that means that Shout is including Growing Up & The Model which were produced for Season 3 but didn't air until Season 4. As long as Sony gives Shout the proper masters I'd see no reason why they wouldn't include them in the right length. Plus I wouldn't think they would use "original episodes" on the front if they were edited.
So Brian, aren't you gonna do something about those two hour-long episodes? They better be included in their original form!
I have the first 2 seasons now I can add another set to my collection...My grams was right patience really does work and I hope to add the whole series to my collection but I won't jump to conclusions because sells have to be good enough for more releases so fans better go out and buy season 3 if they want the whole series released and tells friends and family.
Hopefully, they will be included in their original format. I can't wait! :)
I Can't Wait for Seasons 4-8 and Complete Your Collection tvshowsondvd.com
Season 3 had two hour-long episodes ("The Bank Job" and "The Accident"). Sony has done a terrible (TERRIBLE!) job of including this shows' hour-long episodes in their original form. The first season set had "Retrospective" and "The Trip" in the 2-part, edited syndication format, whilst the second season set had the "Feudin' and Fussin'" and "Thanksgiving Crossover" episodes in the original formats, but the "Arnold's Girlfriend" episode split into two parts, despite being otherwise uncut. Hopefully, they will be included in their original format.
They should be about 49 minutes in length, whilst regular season 3 episodes should be about 25 minutes in length. Please bear that in mind, Shout Factory.
And of course, as this was a videotaped show, make sure there are no encoding issues (like there was with season 7 of All in the Family), and that it has the natural, smooth look of videotape. No jerkiness whatsoever.
lol! is eric feeling alright today? hes actually giving factual news????
The first time one of ericnucera's posts is factual.
Well it's about time.
I Can't Wait for Season 4
