Transformers - Japanese Collection: Headmasters

Excuse our French, erm Japanese, but we find it most appropriate as we near the July 5th release of The Transformers – The Japanese Collection: Headmasters. Fans have been demanding this one since we started releasing The Transformers DVDs a couple years back, so we are absolutely thrilled to get it into their hands. Headmasters includes 35 episodes plus original bonus content, all in a 4-DVD set. This is Chapter 1 of a three-part series, which means there’s more to come.

The Apocalypse, A Hummer & You
Sounds like a party, doesn’t it? That’s the overlying theme of the 1977 film Damnation Alley. Jan-Michael Vincent, George Peppard and Jackie Earle Haley — before Watchmen, but after The Bad News Bears — star in this sci-fi adventure that is making its DVD and Blu-ray debut on July 12. San Diego Or Bust
The 2011 San Diego Comic-Con is next month! Seems like only yesterday that we were at the 2010 SDCC with Max Headroom and the 2009 event with Middleman. Times does fly . . . This year we’ll be in a new booth (4248, for those keeping early track) and hosting signings for Battle Beyond The Stars and Trailers From Hell! Vol. 2. Additionally, we’ll have daily Grand Prize giveaways, lots of product for sale and even a few exclusive gifts with purchase. We invite you to bring a spare suitcase for the trip home. More details to come — but know that it’s going to be tweetbookblog-worthy for sure.

The Original Cowboys Vs. Aliens
Long before any big budgets came into the picture, cowboys were having their own devil of a time with E.T.s in 1994’s Oblivion. The film takes place in a futuristic Western town where the sheriff’s son defends their homestead against a reptilian band of aliens. Bullets and special effects ensue. Look for the DVD on July 5.

Oui Oui To Tintin
Shout! is very pleased to be reteaming with Nelvana (Maggie & The Ferocious Beast, Jane & The Dragon) to bring a whopping 39 episodes of the comic strip-to-cartoon classic The Adventures Of Tintin to DVD. The series chronicles the escapades of an investigative reporter and his pooch, Snowy. More info to come . . .
