Video Games As High Art
Have you ever found yourself humming a song, only to realize it was the theme from that video game you played until 4 a.m. that morning? Video Games Live is here to legitimize your love of 8-bit tuneage with fully orchestrated renditions of some of the greatest game themes ever written. We’re bringing this masterpiece, Video Games Live: Level 2, to Blu-ray, DVD and CD on October 19. New Roger Cormans Coming Your Way
We’ve been having a blast bringing you the Roger Corman’s Cult Classics series. And according to Twitter and Facebook, you’re pretty okay with how we’ve rolled them out. On October 19, you can order The Warrior And The Sorceress/Barbarian Queen directly from us as it’s the latest Shout! Select title (see below). And, since you are drawn into the Iron Man story once again, we invite you to preorder Marvel Knights’ Iron Man: Extremis. Boasting a fresh take on the Iron Man origin, highly acclaimed writing by master storyteller Warren Ellis and the magnificent artistry of Adi Granov, Iron Man: Extremis comes to life with the stellar blend of 2D- and 3D-motion comic animation that only Marvel Knights can deliver! The DVD is in stores November 30.
Atchoo! Pardon Our Dust
It’s a little dusty around the Shout! offices, primarily because we’re in the midst of a move. While we’re only relocating two doors down, we’re still doing a lot of house cleaning. We’ve uncovered boxes of VHS tapes, holiday cards from 2004 and more outdated oddities. That’s what eight years in one space will get you. With all that going on, we’re still hard at work on our release schedule, though. Fear not!
On The Road…
Shout! artists with current and upcoming U.S. tour dates include Los Lobos, Jimmie Vaughan, Richard Thompson Marshall Tucker Band and Megadeth. On the non-music side, Warren Miller's latest film extravaganza, Wintervention, is heading out across the U.S. Schedule and tickets here.Check their listings to see when they’re in a town near you.
This 'N' That
Check out the video for Robert Plant's new cover of Los Lobos' "Angel Dance." Both Louie and Dave make a cameo!
If you’re on the East Coast, we hope you’re attending the New York Comic Con. It takes place October 8-10 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. We’ll be there in spirit.
And if you’re on the West Coast… Join the Los Angeles Screamfest for a screening of The Psycho Legacy on October 16. There’s an afterparty and signing with filmmaker Robert V. Galluzzo on October 19 at Dark Delicacies in Burbank.
