Private Eyes Are Still Watching You
Bar none, one of the greatest songwriting teams of our time is Daryl Hall and John Oates. Individually...wow. Together...a powerhouse. In May of this year, the two revisited their early digs, the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles. The small, intimate gig was recorded and is being released in several incarnations: as a 2-CD/1-DVD set, on regular DVD and on Blu-ray. The hit-packed set includes 19 songs, including “Private Eyes,” “Maneater,” “Kiss On My List,” “Sara Smile,” plus six tracks never before available on a live release. Special features include brand-new interviews with Daryl and John. All versions are available now for preorder before their November 25 street date.
Dave Alvin and Tom Russell . . . on Shout!
The HighTone goodness just keeps on coming. We have two new releases from these road warriors out on 10/28: Dave Alvin’s The Best Of The HighTone Years and Tom Russell’s Veteran’s Day: The Tom Russell Anthology. Alvin’s CD is jam-packed with 18 tracks, including the much-sought-after “Dry River” and three additional unreleased tracks. Russell’s 2-CD set features 37 handpicked tracks, including the previously unreleased acoustic version of “Dark Angel,” new recording “Roll The Credits” and collaborations with Shawn Colvin, Nanci Griffith, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Dave Alvin and more.
Be sure to catch them on tour. They're both smokin' live.
Warren Miller Goes Hi-Def
We’re so excited to be releasing the first-ever Warren Miller Blu-ray film. You might recall Playground from last year’s WM tour. The DVD and Blu-ray are now available at your favorite retailer and just beautiful to view. Shot in hi-def, the film is narrated by Olympic gold medalist
Jonny Moseley and follows the brightest stars of the freeride movement, including Jon Olsson, Chris Davenport, Sean Pettit, Dan Treadway and more. And if that’s not enough, it also features a killer soundtrack with Queens Of The Stone Age, Brooks & Dunn, Linkin Park, The Kooks, Maroon 5 and Korn all contributing tracks. Warren Miller’s new film is about to start its tour, so check the dates to find out when it’s in your town.
2008 World Series . . . The Countdown Is On
It’s that time of year again when all eyes are fixated on four teams in the flavor of MLB. This year’s potential champs are: the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays. Soon enough, we’ll know who the two competitors are for the title of World Series Champions™. Once the playoffs end and the Series begins, Shout! Factory’s team of elves will go into overdrive in producing a DVD of the event for a November 25 street date. It’s sure to have loads of excitement and drama. Who’s going to win? We’ll all find out soon enough.

Shout! Factory’s Mentoring Program
Every now and then we like to share a little about life at Shout! Factory. We’ve been very fortunate to have a now-four-year relationship with an organization called Youth Mentoring Connection, along with A Place Called Home. Twice a month, the high school-aged kids come out to our offices for activities that range from creative to emotional to just plain fun. We recently finished our year up with a mini-golf celebration where the mentees showed us a thing or two about our golfing skills. The program resumes in the New Year when more kids will be recruited by YMC and additional mentors at Shout!.
