Legendary Performances Via Tammy And Marty
Last year we told you the exciting news about our partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame for the release of two Johnny Cash Christmas DVDs. The relationship continues with the launch of the Legendary Performances series. Tammy Wynette and Marty Robbins debut the series with full-length DVDs, which include rare material that, for the most part, has never been available on DVD. Ms Wynette’s disc features performances of “Stand By Your Man,” “Your Good Girl’s Gonna Go Bad” and “D-I-V-O-R-C-E,” plus two unreleased interviews, wedding footage and more. The Marty Robbins DVD includes renditions of such classics as “El Paso,” “A White Sport Coat (And A Pink Carnation)” and “Singing The Blues,” as well as a rare interview. Both will be available on August 19.

Carrying The News About Mott And Ian Hunter
All the young dudes aren’t the only ones to carry the news… we have some of our own as well. On August 26 Shout! will proudly release Old Records Never Die: The Mott The Hoople / Ian Hunter Anthology, a comprehensive 2-CD compilation spanning Ian Hunter’s career. The set includes songs leading up to 2007’s Shrunken Head CD, housing a total of 32 tracks in all! The cover art is stunning and, if you want an inside peek into our cover art process, check out this page on our site.

An Homage To Yankee Stadium: Baseball’s Cathedral
It’s true: Yankee Stadium is going to be razed upon completion of the 2008 baseball season and a new stadium built on its grounds. While history lies at the throes of bulldozers and wrecking balls, baseball fans can celebrate and commemorate this legendary park with the latest Shout! Factory/MLB Productions DVD, Yankee Stadium: Baseball’s Cathedral. This 2-DVD set includes footage from the stadium’s opening day in 1923 through opening day 2008. Additionally, each DVD set includes an exclusive commemorative bronze coin and replica ticket! Here’s the “extra cool” of the value add: the replica ticket is dated October 1, 1961, the day that Roger Maris slammed his 61st home run, effectively breaking Babe Ruth’s longstanding record. And the seat number? The actual seat of the guy who took the ball home. It’s all about details! Available July 1
.

Liberty’s Kids – Making History
Liberty’s Kids is an animated series that initially aired on PBS in 2002-2004. Set during the Revolutionary War, it features characters from the annals of history such as Benjamin Franklin, voiced by the venerable Walter Cronkite. The story revolves around Franklin and a pair of teenage reporters who were caught on opposite sides of the revolution. Many notables lent their voices to the series, including Dustin Hoffman, Annette Bening, Michael Douglas and General Norman Schwarzkopf, to name a few. Shout! will release the entire series in a 6-DVD box set, loaded with tons of extras, in October. In the meantime, you can bone up on your historical facts when the series debuts on The History Channel starting, that’s right, on July 4.
