Show Us Your Love
Ever feel the need to subtly reinforce the idea that your knowledge and passion of pop culture runs deep? That you belong to an exclusive group of entertainment tastemakers? Now you can! Later this month, we’ll have Shout! t-shirts available for purchase on our site, shoutfactory.com. Show off your pop culture savvy by wearing a new Shout! Factory t-shirt this fall. They’re very cool, cotton ditties that come in both black and white for a nice price of $18 to make it easy to get one for you and one for a friend.

The Film Crew Go Wild With Giants
Sort of. The two latest Film Crew DVDs are Wild Women Of Wongo (out now) and The Giant Of Marathon (out 10/11). That makes four Film Crew titles that you really should own. The crew is comprised of ex-MST3K writers/performers Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett. Fans of the band The Tubes might recall their song named for the fascinating Wild Women film. Now you can see the film in its entirety (while you secretly hum the Tubes’ song in your head), coupled with the funny-as-all-get-out commentary. The same goes for Giant, which has become the favorite around Shout’s offices. Each DVD includes a limited-edition goody in the pack, so get yours before they’re gone!

Inside The Actors Studio Returns With Leading Men
Robert De Niro. Al Pacino. Sean Penn. Russell Crowe. These four actors stand head-and-shoulders above their peers and have come to embody the notion of “leading men.” The latest release in our Inside The Actors Studio series features the aforementioned Hollywood hotties in candid, memorable interviews with host James Lipton. The 3-DVD set includes the entire interviews, including outtakes that weren’t aired. Preorder it now before its 9/25 street date. And be on the lookout for our Johnny Depp DVD in November.

Bang a Drum with Mickey Hart
Back in 1991, the first-ever Grammy® award for World Music went to Mickey Hart & Zakir Hussain’s Planet Drum. Now, 16 years later, the two reunite, along with Nigerian talking drum ace Sikiru Adepoju, and Puerto Rico’s master conguero Giovanni Hidalgo, to bring us their Global Drum Project. It’s as phenomenal as you’d expect it to be, being a great follow-up to an exceptional record. The new disc arrives on October 2. Catch them on tour this fall!

Kurt Cobain DocuDrama Comes to Shout! Factory
A lot has been said about the late Nirvana singer in the 13 years since his death, but few words have actually been from Cobain, himself. That will change with Kurt Cobain: About A Son, a new film coming to DVD from Shout! Factory in early 2008, which features Cobain’s own voice, taken from monologues he taped as source material for Michael Azerrad’s acclaimed book Come as You Are: The Story of Nirvana, over stunning images of the places—including Aberdeen, Olympia, and Seattle—that shaped his world. Look for the film showing theatrically leading up to the DVD release. It premieres next month in New York (Oct. 3 - IFC Center), Los Angeles (Oct. 5 - Nuart Theater), and Seattle (Oct. 12, Egyptian). The soundtrack, featuring original score by Steve Fisk and Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard and songs by David Bowie, REM, The Melvins, Iggy Pop, CCR, Mudhoney, and others is out now on Barsuk Records
.

Fired Leads to Hired
After being fired by Woody Allen, actress Annabelle Gurwitch wrote a book about the experience, which led to a comedic film in theaters and subsequent DVD release via Shout! Factory. If you haven’t seen the film, or you already own the DVD but want to turn friends onto this comedic look at some real employment issues, you get your chance in early November when Sundance airs it. Proving that comedy can actually be the best way to uncover real-life issues, it is also playing at the DC Labor Film Festival October 10 in Washington DC. Also on the horizon for Annabelle is her new stint as a columnist online for The Nation. Congratulations, Annabelle!

Early Bird Eats Roasted Worm
It’s that time…time to start thinking about upcoming holidays and the joy of giving. We’ve compiled the Shout! Factory gift guide to spark the imagination. Stop by and imagine the joy a loved one might have at seeing one of these treasures under the tree.

See you in October.

And thanks for reading all the way to the end!
