Super Mario Vs. Sonic!
Summer is shaping up to be fantabulous for videogame and cartoon fans. We’re releasing two DVD box sets that are sure to spin you in your shoes. The Adventures Of Super Mario Bros. 3 – The Complete Series (3-DVD set) and The Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog (4-DVD set) are both on deck, packed with all the episodes and tons of extras. This release of Super Mario is the beloved Saturday morning cartoon that found Mario sporting a tail, while the latest Sonic is of the weekday afternoon variety. Now to ponder over who would win if the heroes squared off against each other. Hmm... Mario is out now. Look for Sonic on July 17.
Batter Up!
Baseball season is in full swing and we have a couple of new MLB™ DVD titles to help fill the hours between games. First up is Beisbol: The Latin Game, available now. Featuring such greats as David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, Carlos Delgado, Johan Santana and Vladimir Guerrer, this DVD celebrates the top MLB talent south of the border. Next at bat is Baseball's Most Unbreakable Feats. Hosted by Roger Clemens, this must-have disc takes a detailed look at ten seemingly untouchable baseball achievements. All-stars like Cy Young, Cal Ripkin, Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio are highlighted. Out July 3.
We’re A Little Bit Country...
Shout! Factory is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which will allow Shout! to create DVD collections from the Museum’s archives. Many of country music’s all-time top artists will get the Shout! treatment. We’re planning to release multi-artist sets as well as single artist discs, so keep your eyes open for news about the release dates!
Introducing The Film Crew: Mike, Bill and Kevin
The Film Crew has a mission. And who doesn’t respect a good old-fashioned mission!?! They’re charged with the task of creating a commentary track for all the B- and C-movies of yesteryear that are so egregiously overlooked in this digital age. So far, so good. The ex-Mystery Science Theater 3000 gang has four in the can: Hollywood After Dark (out July 10), Killers From Space (August 7), Wild Women Of Wongo (September 11) and The Giant Of Marathon (October 9). Look for a world premiere of the latter three at Comic-Con this year. More info below.
It’s Almost Comic-Con Time!
We’re well into our plans for the San Diego Comic-Con that happens at the end of July. We’ll have a booth again this year, so stop by for a visit and chat if you’re in the neighborhood. Additionally, the members of the Film Crew will be on hand to sign copies of their new DVD. They’re hosting a panel in which they’ll WORLD PREMIERE three of their DVDs and answer the questions you’ve always wanted to ask (or new ones you’ll think up on the spot). More details coming next month, but we wanted to give you a heads up so that you can start your planning.
