Jetix Europe and Shout! Factory today announced a new agreement in North America for the home entertainment distribution of the animated series’, Pucca and Oban Star Racers.
The colorful Pucca series is based on the funky cult Korean character which originated as the cheeky, eponymous star of an animated e-card service. Pucca, the daughter of a Chinese restaurant owner, is obsessed with her one true love, Garu. Young Garu has a different idea; he is following the stoic path of the Ninja and wants to be left in peace. Today, there are 3,000 different Pucca products available around the globe.
Oban Star-Racers is an adventure series that chronicles the Great Race of Oban, an intergalactic racing competition that takes place every 10,000 years to determine the winner of a mysterious ultimate prize and the balance of powers within the Galaxy.
This agreement includes the 39 half-hour episodes of the award-winning Pucca, as well as 26 half-hour episodes of the sci-fi action series Oban Star-Racers. The initial rollout will begin during first quarter 2008. |
