Digital Distribution Intern (Paid)
Shout! Factory is seeking a Digital Distribution Intern to work in our Business Affairs department. This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of digital video distribution which includes maintaining the digital release schedule, metadata and asset creation and delivery and research. A successful candidate either possesses some expertise using Final Cut, Compressor and Cinema Tools or is a quick study with learning how to use similar software. Fundamental knowledge of the digital industry is required; an in-depth knowledge is a plus.
Reports to: Director, Digital Distribution
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Metadata creation and delivery
- Art and video asset collection, creation and delivery
- Maintain the digital release schedule
- Track all relevant data and information pertaining to digital projects as directed
- Conduct digital industry research as directed
- Provide general administrative support to the Digital Distribution Director and Business Affairs department as needed
- Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Must be highly organized and have an outstanding eye for detail
- Must have the ability to multi-task effectively and work proactively
- Must have a fundamental understanding of the digital business and operations
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel specifically, and have a good working knowledge of all other Microsoft Office programs
- Must be an effective communicator (written and verbal) with all levels of staff
- Expertise in Final Cut, Compressor and Cinema Tools is preferred
- Experience working with legal contracts/licenses is preferred

Jr. Content Acquisitions Intern (Paid)
Do you spend hours upon hours scouring the web looking for new content to entertain you and your friends? Do you ever think “man, that [insert entertainment company name] should put this out!” Have you ever wished you could pitch the cool content you are finding online or out in the world to a company for an hourly wage on a flexible schedule? Well, this gig may just be for you.
Shout! Factory is creating a part-time paid internship in our DVD Department focused on culling the internet and other sources for new, cool, innovative trends and content to release digitally and/or on DVD. A successful candidate is a creative thinker, a pop culture fan, and a thorough researcher. The Jr. Content Acquisitions Intern must be able to locate and evaluate potential projects from various sources. This position is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to get his or her start in entertainment.
Reports to: Sr. Director, DVD Acquisitions
Key Functions/Responsibilities:
- Research the web for content to turn into digital or DVD projects:
- Identify online trends, emerging talent (music, comedy, etc.), web shows, shorts and indie films, anime or other alternative animation – that have a solid fan-base
- Find TV shows/series to release on DVD from smaller networks
- Identify older content (ie. films, TV shows, etc) for re-release or re-issue that is popular with the 18 – 25 demographic
- Brainstorm and pitch ideas to the DVD acquisitions department and senior management team to determine viability of projects
Requirements:
- Strong internet research skills are a must
- Extensive knowledge of popular culture – past and present
- Be an effective communicator – both written and verbal
- Must be able to work independently and be proactive in the job
