Business Affairs Coordinator

We are seeking to fill an entry-level position in our Business Affairs department. The Business Affairs Coordinator is a full time, non-exempt, hourly position. The Coordinator will be the organizational and directional foundation of the department, as well as function as the assistant to the VP of Business Affairs. The candidate will control the flow of all documents that come through the department. Be charged with managing the electronic and hard copy filing systems and tracking all files within the department. The candidate will become familiar with a wide variety of contracts. This position is a tremendous opportunity for anyone who would like to work on the business side of the entertainment or music industries. Reports to: Vice President of Business Affairs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Control flow of information and documents within Business Affairs;
- Draft and mail all cover letters to accompany agreements;
- Liaise between Finance and Business Affairs on all applicable payments;
- Maintain and update electronic legal filing system;
- Handle music publishing research for projects;
- Handle mechanical licensing for audio projects;
- Liaise between Royalties and Business Affairs on all license information;
- Answer phones, set up meetings and manage schedule for VP Business Affairs;
- Other duties as assigned by Business Affairs.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Must be computer literate and be highly proficient with MS Word, Excel and databases;
- Must be extremely organized, be a self-starter with an outstanding attention to detail;
- Must be able to multitask and have the ability to change priorities with limited notice;
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to relay information to all levels of personnel both inside and outside the company;
- Prior contract administration experience preferred.
