What's your relationship to Rhino?
Richard Foos, Bob Emmer and Garson Foos were some of the key men behind the remarkable Rhino which was started by Richard as a record label in 1978. In 1992, Rhino inked a deal with Atlantic. Eleven years later – in 2003 – Rhino became a Warner imprint, and Richard, Bob and Garson – still fueled by the same passion for reissuing classic pop-culture and retro gems – decided to continue in a similar fashion and Shout! Factory was born! The result has been a fantastic schedule of audio and video releases, and a steadily growing catalog with no end in sight.

Can I send you my demo or new album or old Grateful Dead bootlegs?
Sorry, but we do not accept any unsolicited materials. Most of the CDs and box sets that we release are retrospective collections and catalog titles from previously established artists. Our best advice is keep playing shows, build your fan base, and keep up the good fight.

Does Shout! Factory accept suggestions about possible titles to release?
Absolutely. We are always open to hearing what our fans might have to suggest. There is a good chance that you might throw out a title or artist that we’ve already been salivating over, but your ideas are always welcome. Many of the still-unreleased shows of yesteryear have not been released because of licensing issues or who-knows-what. Still we are committed to releasing the best that we can find, and would love to hear your input as to what you’d like to see released in the future.

Do you sell direct from your offices? / Where can I purchase your products?
We do not sell direct and we do not take phone orders. Our products can be purchased through our website, Amazon.com and at most retail stores that sell CDs and DVDs. For a detailed list of stores near you, please go to our store lookup page.

How do I request a CD or DVD for review?
You can send an email to shoutpress@shoutfactory.com specifying which title you are requesting and what outlet you will be reviewing it for. We will review all such requests and will do our best to respond promptly.

How do I request something to play on a radio show or for a station?
Same basic answer as above, except you should send your request to the radio@shoutfactory.com email address.

I live outside of the U.S. Is your product available internationally?
Yes, much of our product is available outside the U.S. through various licensees. If we have international rights, we do everything we can to make it available to you! Our best advice is to check your favorite retailer or online store in the territory in which you reside. If it is available in your area, it'll likely show up there. We cannot ship outside of the U.S. for purchases made on our website.

How do you decide what to release?
We are pitched projects by content owners, by our staff, friends and the general public. There are 3 things that go into our decisions on what to release: Availability, profitability and a fit with the Shout! Factory brand.

Why do Best-ofs -- why not do entire seasons?
There are many possible reasons why complete seasons are not possible. Often, as with The Best Of The Electric Company, the masters don't exist for all episodes. Sometimes, as with SCTV: Best Of The Early Years, it’s impossible to license the music used in certain episodes. Sometimes, like with The Adventures Of Ozzie And Harriet, it's just too many seasons (14) with too many episodes (435 total) to release them all.

What about High Definition?
Right now the High Definition DVD market is being tested with huge sellers like King Kong. We are definitely looking toward high definition releases at some point in the future.

Can I download individual episodes? Discs?
Not yet. But we are working on it.

Is all of your music on CD available for download?
Unfortunately, no. Because much of the music that we release is licensed, we are not always able to secure digital rights. As much as we’d love to offer all of our tracks for download, sometimes we only get rights to release them as physical product.

Where can I find your upcoming release schedule?
Our upcoming releases are on the same page as our New Releases.

I’ve ordered an item through your web site, but it hasn’t arrived yet. How can I find out the status of my order?
Information on order status is available from our customer service page.

Do you have a newsletter, and if so, where can I sign up?
Glad you asked. Right here.

Do you have a My Space page?
Yes we do. You can find us at: http://www.myspace.com/shoutfactory

I had a question about the audio/video quality of one of your items. The quality seems a little scratchy or the audio seems a little muffled. Why is this?
Although we do our best to improve the quality of some very old source material, we cannot always restore everything perfectly.

How can I return a Shout! Factory product that I’ve purchased?
Most retail outlets allow returns on CDs or DVDs that they sold that are defective. If you made your purchase in a store, please return it to that location or a branch of that chain. If you made your purchase from our website, you can certainly return defective merchandise for exchange or credit.
Please contact customer service.

How can I apply for a job with Shout! Factory?
Go to the jobs page and see if we have any positions listed that matches your skills and experience. One request however, please do not call. If we have any open positions, they will be listed on the jobs page.

I am looking for press photos and materials. Who do I ask?
For photos and materials, please send an email to shoutpress@shoutfactory.com, with the details of what you are looking for, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. The more detail you can give us the better. We are currently developing a B2B, so stand by and please check back for an update.

I registered in the past but cannot log in anymore!
The most likely reasons for this are: you entered an incorrect username or password (check the email you were sent when you first registered) or the administrator has deleted your account for some reason. Occasionally, boards periodically remove users who have not posted anything so as to reduce the size of the database. Try registering again and get involved in discussions.

I registered but cannot log in!
First check that you are entering the correct username and password. If they are okay then one of two things may have happened: if COPA support is enabled and you clicked the I am under 13 years old link while registering then you will have to follow the instructions you received. If this is not the case then maybe your account need activating. Some boards will require all new registrations be activated, either by yourself or by the administrator before you can log on. When you registered it would have told you whether activation was required. If you were sent an email then follow the instructions; if you did not receive the email then check that your email address is valid. One reason activation is used is to reduce the possibility of rogue users abusing the board anonymously. If you are sure the email address you used is valid then try contacting the board administrator.

Why do I get logged off automatically?
If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you log in, the board will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the board from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university cluster, etc.
