The lovable moptops set in motion not only the British Invasion, but an ongoing love affair between Americans and the music of our British cousins. After the Beatles came psychedelia, glam, prog, punk, new wave and more, and we, the Benedict Arnolds that we are, have bellied up to their musical buffet time and time again. So as we celebrate our political independence from England on July 4th, let's also acknowledge our musical dependence on the very same nation.
