The cartoon versions of Tom Servo and Crow T Robot are alright but definetly nothing close to ideal of what I want as a fan and as a collector. Something like a 6 inch plastic model of everyone from the series would definetly be a start. I know that its strange for a 22 year old asking for toys but at the moment the only thing I would find suitable as a fan would to be to buy the 400$ puppet models.
So how about it? |

As silly as it sounds, you can get a set of small figures for a whole host of shows on TV past and present.
Granted, most of these are "action" figures from action shows, but other shows have released "models" of their stars to satisfy fan wishes.
So why don't we have a Satellite of Love play set, featuring a diorama of the Bridge, with working Movie Sign (batteries not included - some assembly required)???
Then you could collect three packs of your favorite stars and guest cast members. Joel, Crow and Gypsy - Clayton, Frank and Tom - Josh, Jerry and Sylvia - Mr. B, Torgo, and "Alternate Universe" Mike.
The list goes on and on.
And That is All the Foreshadowing We Can Afford Right Now. |

Here's hoping the 20th Anniversary set, which includes the series' very first licensed figurine, will spark more collectibles down the road.

Suitable Gifts / Toys / Models ? | Based upon the releases that offer figurines as a bonus, I'm guessing it will be a once a year occurence, perhaps tying in with the holidays. It wouldn't surprise me to see a Gypsy figure go with whatever volume is released for the 2010 holiday season, with perhaps a Cambot figure to go along the following year. (I'm REALLY looking far ahead now!) |
