Anyone have an idea when Shout! will release more of Elvira?  There IS only 266 days until Hallowe'en, you know...

     I appreciate you placing that post in the correct spot.  I could not get the "Reply" button to appear on this thread for some reason.  Anyway thanks again for the information.  I am truly excited about these DVD's.  I bought 2 of each single movie and 2 of each double feature for myself and a copy of all the double packs for some of my friends.  I intend on buying two of each of these for myself as well as a copy for some of friends again this fall!  Keep up the good work guys!  I am almost as big of a fan of Shout! Factory as I am of Elvira's since you introduced these titles!

     I am extremely pleased to see that the Breather segments were included in this set of DVD's.  Keep up the great work.  Hopefully a third round of Movie Mac episodes are on the horizon.  I would love to see Bloodbath, Pigs, and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes make it onto DVD in this series.  Thanks guys!

At least during "Frankenstein's Castle of Freaks" there are moments during the movie where Elvira breaks in.  There's a scene where someone is looking through holes in the eyes of a painting, she breaks in "Ah yes the old shifty eyes behind the portrait routine!", then it goes right back to the movie.  Cassandra Peterson must have had edited shows in her archive.

I noticed other recent shows released didn't have full host clips.  On the House That Screamed/Maneater of Hydra dvds both didn't include the full Elvira "outros" where she signs off "Unpleasant dreams"  She's gets cut off before she's about to keep talking. 

Still all in all it's great these are being released at all after 20 plus years. 

I noticed that some of  the Outros were cut short also.  I have several episodes of Movie Mac that I recorded off of KJTL in the 80's and I would assume that the reason the Outro has to be cropped is because Elvira often would preview upcoming episodes of Movie Macabre.  This is evident on one of Shout Factory's recent Movie Mac releases that showed a preview of "Werewolf of Washington".  That particular episode did not have to be cropped because they have already obtained the rights to use "Werewolf of Washington".  I recently read an article interviewing Cassandra Peterson and she stated that many of these titles are very obscure (often times damaged or retitled) and very difficult to find a suitable copy to use in a Movie Mac release.  I am pleased that the Breather segments were not cropped from this batch of Movie Macabe episodes.  I wonder what episodes are in the works for wave 3 of Movie Macabre DVD releases?

**** On a seperate note****** Has SHOUT! Factory considered picking up Elvira's other 80's and 90's endeavors' Midnght Madness or Thriller Video series?  How about her Australian show Thriller Theater?

Well anyways I can't wait for this September or October for some more titles.  Too bad it's only January. 

One thing I was wondering is how Shout got the rights to "Blue Sunshine".  It wasn't released too long ago on special edition dvd and is still available.  Since that happened how bout releasing the episode with "Blood Bath".  That was put on dvd the last couple of years?

Here a few films that as of now haven't been out on video since the early 80's that that would be great for future Movie Macabre releases, Dr Heckyl and Mr Hype, New Years Evil, Night of the Zombies, House of the Dead (1978), The Torture Chamber of Dr Sadism and So Sad About Gloria.  Just throwing that out there. 

Bloodbath is in my dvd collection too... remembering it vividly from seeing it on Movie Mac!  I actually wrote the video company back when I heard it was being released on dvd and mentioned to them about Elvira's Movie Mac episode clips making a good extra on the dvd.  This was before Shout! Factory releases.  Unfortunately they didn't seem to think it was as worthwhile as I did.  By the way the same guy directed the MM shown movie "Night of the Zombies".   A good double dvd... ;-)

I have a washed out copy of the Mad Magician 3D show taped off tv from back when.  The sound and picture aren't bad but its maybe 3rd/4th generation so the 3D doesn't work.  It not only has Breather but also a character that only appeared a few times during the first year of the show, Pops the Janitor.

Oh another good show was with the movie "Blood On Satan's Claw".  The movie was put on dvd over in the UK so the rights might be up for grabs in the U.S. if Shout has the Movie Macabre clips to go with it. 

Checking some of the movies shown on Movie Macabre a bunch were released on the "Paragon Video" label back in the 80's.  I wonder if that had anything to do with John "Breather" Paragon.

I know it is early but are there any prospectitive titles currently in the works?  Hopefully this second round of Movie Mac titles was lucritive enought to spawn another round of "B" movie mayhem.  (Also looking forward to the MST3K releases!)

Hey there!  I hope you survived the winter and are enjoying this spring weather.  I see Elvira already has a few new licenses out (Tooned Up statue #2, and the Elvira Monster Match N Stack PC game) so I figured maybe some of the prospective Movie Mac titles might be in the works.  In the past Shout! had released the titles selected by spring so hopefully the series is still a go and we will hear the good news soon!  I am stayin' glued! :)

On another note...Has SHOUT! looked into the Tales from the Darkside to be released on DVD?  This is an awesome series and it has never been released on DVD.

Have you guys dropped the Movie Macabre project? It seems strange that it isn't being promoted anymore.  I certainly hope this is not the case.  This is such a fun DVD series.

     Is there still a problem finding titles for Movie Macabre?  Does Shout!factory have any current titles in the works for Elvira's Movie Macabre?  I seems the steam behind getting these out appears to have cooled off but before you guys give up on it please try to get some of the more unique titles out!  Especially with the 3-D boom that is going on right now it would be so cool to get the Mad Magician 3-D episode released to DVD, especially since it contains an Elvira music video with Pops and the Breather.  Bloodbath is still up there with my favorites too just because it is a fun Creepshow/Twilight Zone type of movie.  Any information you can divulge would be appreciated!

I also am curious about Elvira Mistress of the Dark and Haunted Hills. Before Elvira updated her myspace, there was a bit of info on it that said there was a double pack featuring Mistress of the Dark/Haunted Hills coming out on Shout Factory. Once her myspace was overhauled, it was gone. So I wasn't sure if it fell through or not. I would love to have at least a re-release of Mistress of the Dark with as much bonus features as possible.

Shout factory, you do amazing, top quality work and its rather sad to see other DVDs/DVD sets that are just not only designed poorly but the bonus features are very little to nonexistant.

     I put in my word to Santa Claus.  More Elvira's Movie Macabre releases from Shout! Factory.  He's working on it.  Come on Brian!  Give us some good news!  :)  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

3D is huge right now.  The Mad Magician Movie Macabre episode would be an awesome release.  Have you been able to resolve any of the kinks involved with these releases?  Are we any closer to more releases of this series?  I am also interested in Midnight Madness and Thriller Video releases.  Even The Elvira Show pilot would be a great release.  Please do not let this series fall by the wayside.  We love this series.  If you do not release these, they may be lost forever.

Okay, there is buzz that Elvira's Movie Macabre may be relaunched as a new series with Elvira hosting a new round of B movies.  Will Shout! Factory plan on releasing these as a set similar to MST3K?  I am really hoping to see more Movie Macabre episodes from the original series.  I know I sound like a broken record but this series is to good to let go by the wayside.  At least get a couple of the monumental episodes out before you quit.  The Mad Magician was significant-it was the first time a female horror host had been broadcast in 3D.  Let's crank that one out.  Killer Tomatoes PIGS both may be difficult to release.  I believe Troma may have both of those.  Definitely had PIGS AKA Daddy's Deadly Darling for a while.  Blood Bath, Schizoid, The Blood on Satan's Claw, The Godsend.  Elvira is coming up on another significant anniversary in September on 2011.  30 Years of Elvira!  Hopefully Shout! can do some sort of special release for the occasion!  Come on Shout! Factory.  Your public needs your help!

I don't think "The Search for the New Elvira" has made it to DVD yet...

Anyway, sad news about Movie Macabre.  Too many hurdles per episode or too many people holding out on rights issues?  Ah, well.  Hopefully she'll get her series off the ground again if she can find it a home, and I'll be among the first and loudest to cheer her on.  Thanks, Shout Factory, for getting us what you did.  Your efforts, as always, are very much appreciated.

     I am extremely grateful for what you guys were able to release.  You guys at least put out a good representation of our beloved Movie Mac.  That is much more than anyone else has done.  Hopefully the new Elvira's Movie Macabre will bring in a whole new audience and maybe provide for some other Elvira/Shout! Factory collaborations in the future.
