- The Maxx
- Earthworm Jim
- Extreme Ghostbusters
- Back To The Future: The Animated Series
- Celebrity Deathmatch
- Any of the old 90s Marvel cartoons that no one will put out on DVD.
I know that some of these might be hard, but could you please at least try? |

Back to the Future - Same problem, but this time it's owned by Universal. There WAS recently a rumor that this might be on its way to DVD, so who knows...
The others might be a possibility though! I'd REALLY like to see the 90's X-Men and Spider-Man series' on DVD. Last I heard Marvel was trying to wrangle the rights back from Disney, so if that happens then Shout Factory might have a shot at them. The Maxx was also awesome, the VHS release that came out was a travesty - pointless edits and stuff cut out. Glad I still have my uncut TV recordings. |

I am looking into starting a ebay store and that will be stocking these and if you have got a multi-regional player i will be shipping to the states. I'll post more info when i got it. Waiting to hear from my suppliers. |

I have a region-free player, but would still prefer a proper release in the original video standard the shows were produced in. Just as folks in the U.K. would prefer a Region 2 PAL release of a U.K. show. |

Member since: 10/23/2007 | | RE: DVD Sets Shout Factory should do. | True but i do alot of importing from the states of classic shows. The last one i brought was Jayce (looking forward to Vol 2) and currently saving up to get a few of shouts others.
I have a equipment that plays both pal and ntsc and to be honest you can't see that much difference (well i can't)
If its out and i want it and its only avaiable in Region 1 then thats where i get it plus on a side note, i have read somewhere that a lot of the classic shows have had there NTSC films lost and had there DVDS made from PAL sources. |

Member since: 5/28/2008 | | RE: DVD Sets Shout Factory should do. | True, there isn't always a huge difference (the only the fly conversion is pretty good nowadays), but there IS a difference. For example, when you play a PAL video on an NTSC system with on the fly conversion, it tends to "judder" or "stutter" whenever there's movement on the screen. It can never look as good as a native NTSC signal, or a PAL signal that has been properly converted with 3:2 pulldown to correct the field order. This is something no home player can do.
As for the thing about masters only being in PAL, you probably read something about that happening with Filmation's library. It's very unusual for a company to get rid of its original masters. As I recall, Filmation's NTSC masters were destroyed by accident, so they only had PAL conversions of them left. But the difference there is, you're getting NTSC versions of PAL material converted PROPERLY, with professional equipment. The quality of that type of conversion is far superior to any on the fly conversion a DVD player can do.
Besides, conversion issues aside, I'm sure most people would much rather just walk into a local store and buy their favorite show, rather than import it from another country. |

The rest was just BAD!!!Earthworm Jim was hilarious, but the only thing out there are 3 VHS and bootlegs. But maybe with the new annoucement of a new game, new TV Show, and a MOVIE, maybe SHout! can get it on DVD.
Here's a link to the Earthworm Jim artcle if you haven't seen it:

Member since: 12/6/2007 | | RE: DVD Sets Shout Factory should do. | Would love to own a proper release of The Maxx (my sister has a decent-quality bootleg of it, but I'd rather re-watch it on something official and support artist Sam Kieth, assuming he gets any royalties and it doesn't just all go to MTV). That reminds me, I still have to borrow her copies of the comics to finish reading the story (only ever read those initial two volumes that Image put out in the `90s without finishing the series until DC took in Wildstorm and put 'em out).
Earthworm Jim is a definite buy. I often loved the series and was nuts about the first two Super Nintendo games.
I didn't even know about Extreme Ghostbusters until a few years ago, but now I wanna see it. Apparently it's in-continuity with The Real Ghostbusters, so technically a proper continuation of the story, and I also hear it was well-done (not like, Gargoyles or Batman: The Animated Series-level well-done...but good).
Not holding my breath for `90s Spider-Man, X-Men, Hulk, Iron Man, or Avengers (then again I'm not sure I really want those last two...but I'd still probably end up buying 'em to re-watch and catch what I missed or don't remember). Only Fantastic Four (The Complete Series, both of the two seasons in one 4-disc set) made it out, around the time of the first live-action movie, and I'm glad I bought that up (cheesy as it is, I had fun with it and liked a lot of the episodes and voice acting). I know these shows will happen eventually because there's too much money to be made for them to just sit in a vault for decades...but we still might be waiting a few years. Maybe it'd be a good first Blu-Ray-only release if that format sticks around and DVD dies down in several years. |
