Question for B Ward

What is the possibility of the short-lived CBS series 'Family Dog' coming to DVD?

It originally was a segment on Amazing Stories that was well-recieved, and then made into an animated series. It was quickly cancelled, only having about 6 episodes, but it was created by Brad Bird and Steven Spielberg,  (and I think Tim burton had a hand in it too im not sure) two famous filmmakers. It even had a videogame too.

I realize there are not a lot of episodes of the show, but the character is pretty beloved among animation fans. You can probably do a single-disc release for about $10.

If you write the names Braid Bird and Steven Spielberg on it you can get even more sales by the casual customer who may never have heard about it. Maybe as a special feature, you can have the original segment from Amazing Stories.

RE: Question for B Ward

Correction: The series had 10 episodes not 6. So maybe you can make a two-disc boxset out of this. 5 episodes on one disc, five on the second.

You can probably reuse this artwork for the DVD, should it be released, its pretty easy on the eyes.

As for special features, maybe get a commentary by one of the writers, and the original short from Amazing Stories.

RE: Question for B Ward
Hehehe...I actually still have that Laserdisc set.  And the Laserdisc with the Amazing Stories episode.  It's amazing how many people fondly remember this show, considering how short-lived and under-promoted it was.  And you are correct about Tim Burton's involvement, he did the character designs.  Probably slim chance of Shout Factory doing it, as it was a Universal production.  But a lot of the major studios are starting to shop out their stuff to other companies for DVD release, so who knows?
