Can you please give me an update on a Platinum Edition DVD of Sonic The Hedgehog Movie that it gets released after Thanksgiving 2008 and Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volumes 2 and Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 3? I will be very excited to get Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Platinum Edition on DVD and Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volumes 2 and 3 on DVD to complete the 1990's Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon series collections! Thank you.

I know the DVD has been out of print for a while and there was something of a censoring issue. However I think it is Anime from overseas and not part of the DiC collection. Not sure if Shout has the ability or interest to release this, though as a fan I would buy it. |

I think ADV FIlms owns it, as they dubbed it for English. But I read the SHout! annoucement on Wikipedia today, came back, & saw that it was gone. So, will there be new Sonic DVDs? |

However I just went to the Sonic The Hedgehog Movie at Wikipedia and the announcement is still there. I wonder if the powers to be at Shout have something to say on this rumor.

The uncut version has some extra scenes such as Sonic flipping off Metal Robotnik. If shout was to release another DVD, I hope they use the uncut Version. Also the DVD as bonus features, only has slideshows of character bios' (info about the characters) seen in the movie.
The reason I hope that shout uses the uncut version is that there was also another DVD released that was the cut version shown on the VHS.

Member since: 4/16/2007 | | RE: UPDATE PLEASE FOR THE SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DVD'S | i have both the vhs and dvds of the Sonic ova. there really must have been 2 diffrent versions of the vhs cause mine has Sonic giving Metal Robotnik the bird (flipping the middle finger for those who dont know the slang). i think whats missing that needs to be put in is the scene where u can see Sara (Sarah) up the skirt through Metal Sonic's p.o.v (i know what i said was perverted but it was part of the orginal film at least i think it was). I'm uncertain if ADV films had drop the rights to the film but i know they havent made anymore. Im still waiting for them to make more Megaman Season 2 and 3, i already have Season 1 and the upon a star dvds. but i hope that Shout! will be able to pick up the rights.

PC2 is right. The original Mega Man series (not the OVA Wish Upon a Star or NT Warrior) was released as a two part set. I actually own both sets. I was lucky to get them when they first came out since they now go for a little over $50. Just for those interested here is a link to amazons listings of vol 1, A Hero is Born (I actually contributed back cover art for this set), and vol 2 Battle for the Future. As I stated the entire series is on these two, 3 disk sets.
Edit: Forgot to mention, both sets have been discontinued. That is why you can't find them in stores and why the prices have risen on amazon. |

Member since: 4/16/2007 | | RE: UPDATE PLEASE FOR THE SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DVD'S | well i got lucky when i found Season 1 @ a local Gamestop store unfortunately the thrid disc was scratched so 1 or 2 episodes are messed up but i really cant complain, the upon a star ova ive ordered on their website during one of their special sales. i should check on half.com for the Season 2&3 Box. though it would be cool if Shout! could get the rights to Megaman and be able to get the rest of Megaman.. but anywho bring on Sonic The Hedgehog: The Movie (Shout! Factory Edition)

It actually looks very promising and the graphics look too good to be a wii game ;). I also agree that Shout should try and take advantage of the new game by releasing the third volume of AoSTH around the time of the games release. I assume the release of the game is a good year away and Shout only has intentions of releasing the second volume of AoSTH around Christmas. I also don't know how hard this would be, but Shout should also talk with the marketing department at Sega and see if they can include mini booklets in the DVD game case showing off the Sonic TV series that is currently under their umbrella. As a return, advertisement sleeves for Sonic Unleashed can be included in future Sonic TV series. Work together guys to spread the word. |

Also,could you tell me more about that Sonic TV Show that's under the umbrella? |

I'm very excited that I will be getting Sonic Unleashed along with strategy guide for PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii that gets released in November 2008! I'm very excited that Sonic Underground Volume 2 will get released on DVD for June 17, 2008 to complete the entire collection! Will they release Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 3 and Sonic The Hedgehog Movie on DVD in November closer to the game's release of Sonic Unleashed for Wii or PlayStation 3 and I know that Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 2 will be released in Christmas 2008 to complete the 1990's Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon series collections on DVD! Can they include the advertisement sleeves and mini booklets for Sonic Unleashed in Sonic Underground Volume 2, Sonic The Hedgehog: The Movie, Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 2 and Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Volume 3? Shout has an impressive library of Sonic TV shows on DVD from Sonic The Hedgehog (SatAM), Sonic Underground and Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog. That is what I meant by saying that there are Sonic TV shows under Shout's corporate umbrella that they have to advertise with. To help promote and boost sales of these cartoons, I feel that Shout negotiate with sega and release advertisements in the upcoming game to remind fans that these classic cartoons are available on DVD. |
