MST3K: Season Seven
I know that many people have begged and pleaded for season box sets of MST, only to be told that due to the rights involved, such a set would not be financially feasible.  However, as far as season sets go, there is one possible exception to the 'financially impractical' rule: Season Seven.  It was only six episodes long, which would make the season set a mere two discs larger than the 4-disc sets that Rhino was producing.  According to the compiled Release Likelihood list(http://www.mst3kinfo.com/ward_e/listlikely.html), at least one of those films is most likely in the public domain, which would help with the cost of film rights.  Plus, Rhino never released a single episode from Season Seven, so MSTies would be eager to get their hands on them.  I'm not saying that this should necessarily be Shout's first MST release, but definitely something to consider for the future.  It may still not be financially practical, but it would finally get MSTies a complete season of their favorite show.  Thoughts?

RE: MST3K: Season Seven
I know I'm the only mst3k fan who thinks this but I never liked the idea of a season set. When i Buy a set of mst3k I like a little variety. I think rhino had the right idea by mixing it up and having various episodes in a single set. I personally would hate to have a box set with any kind of theme. Especially the lame Russo-finishan films they did. I never liked any of those episodes and i would certainly hate to see a boxset full of them.

I agree that having variety is nice.  And a theme set would be pretty lame.  But since Season Seven is so short, none of the episodes have been released before, and one is most likely in the public domain, it seems like too good an opportunity to pass up to finally get a season box set.  And it's not like the episodes in Seven had a central theme.  You've got everything from melting men to laser-cannon arms in there.

Yes a season 7 set would be a good idea. I've seen 3 episodes from that season and all three were superb. So far its the only season to give me a laugh every time. The only problem with a season 7 set is getting the rights to deathstalker and the incredible melting man. I wouldn't mind a season seven set, but If there was ever a season 9 or 2 or even 10 It would probably be expensive as hell or the video quality would look pretty teribble.

Sadly, it's not just a question of variety, it's one of cost.  No one would really ever be able to do complete seasons because they'd be responsible for licensing every film used.  Some are obviously cheaper than others, but one thing is for sure: MST3K never really liked doing films in the public domain.

Sadly some episodes do cost more than others, So some episodes like Space Travelers will never be released to dvd. But still I would like to see Some season seven episodes like Oh I don't know Laserblast released
