"2 hidden Easter eggs can also found on Disc 3:
While on the main menu, highlight the ‘play all’ option. Now press up three times. You should now be highlighting a part of Manic’s drum. Select it to see a 2 minute 12 second featurette called “Giving Sega the Finger . . .” where executive producer Robby London tells you why Sonic has four fingers on each hand, instead of three as is custom to most cartoon characters.
Now highlight episodes and press up three times. You should be now highlighting the bottom of Sonic’s guitar. Select it to see a 1 minute 30 second featurette called “Robby London Answers the BIG Questions”. You will see questions on the screen and executive producer Robby London answers them. "
Haven't tried these yet but just about to. Still, I'd though I'd share them with the rest of you to try as well. |

"Giving Sega the Finger." Now that's clever. Poor DiC, having to go back and add another finger to all the animation. The President of SEGA doesn't sound like the nicest guy in the world, to say the least.
For those wondering if Sean Connery played Athair, Mr. London finally tells us that the answer is no. I'm fairly sure he was played by Maurice Lamarche. And interestingly, Uncle Chuck was named after a DiC writer. |

Thus that relates to why animated characters are drawn with five fingers. It's so the relatives of the victims don't get upset (or angry at the studios). I read some more info about this when reading a biography of Astroboy. It seems even that show, and manga, had to be redrawn eventually with more fingers so as to not upset people. This is just a courtesy in Japan that a lot of shows and mangas were affected by.
