Why should I pay $100 a month for a Digital Cable unit, just to watch Toon Disney, when I could just wait for you guys to release Digimon: Digital Monsters on DVD, in 26-Episode Boxsets, and pay 30 bucks for each? I don't care if Disney has the rights to air it, see to it that SHOUT! Factory has the rights to release Digimon: Digital Monsters on DVD, IN AMERICA!!! |

Disney sure doesn't seem interested in doing anything with it. I'll just repost what I said on another forum about why Digimon should be on DVD:
1. The show still brings in ratings. The series running on Disney networks since before Jetix's inception is testament that Disney knows the show is worth keeping around, especially since they picked up the rights to the remaining 4 movies and Digimon Savers.
2. They're releasing DVDs internationally. Box sets are being released in the UK in several months. They've been getting DVD releases of the series on and off for a while. The show clearly has international appeal on DVD, and it certainly does here in America, too. Which leads me to point 3...
3. Plenty of demand. There are plenty of fans out there that would pay a pretty penny for box sets of the series, even if they were American version only (which, obviously, they would be).
I could see Digimon being a dynamite property for Shout! to release. |
