Update's for "Bump in the Night" release
Hi, Brian and all.

I know this is quite early still, but could you post any updates on the Bump in the Night DVD, as they arise?
Just the regular sort of stuff, like release date, extras, box art, etc.

Thanks a lot for your efforts in the DVD biz, and keep up the good work,

RE: Update's for "Bump in the Night" release
See this is one of those releases that in my opinion out of the DIC catalog, if Shout is going to put this out, i dont see why in the world they couldnt put out COW boys of moo mesa, its 26 episodes like Bump, could be put out in one release....COW boys is by far not something i am raring to get, because i am mainly an 80's toon fan, but it was decent it was made by the same people who did ninja turtles, in my personal opinion i couldnt stand Bump, plus it was a little past my toon watching age, but my point is if they are going to put that out why not COW Boys , others have expressed intrest on here for it.

RE: Update's for "Bump in the Night" release
Yeah, well...this is a topic to post updates on the "Bump in the Night" release, (which would most likely be done by Brian Ward) not to complain that they're not releasing your favourite show. You have a problem with what Shout is releasing, you take it up with them specifically. Make a topic about THAT. (Though I'm guessing you have already...) Leave other shows out of your attack. You should really know better then to bring an irrelevant release into your fight for Cowboy-whosit, using the said release as just another opportunity to complain to Brian, and cutting down the said release in the process. What, are going to put this rant into every topic discussing every show you deem  beneath this moo mesa show?

Personally, I haven't even heard much of your show. Bump, on the other hand, I loved, as it was a major part of my childhood, airing on YTV. And I mean, frankly, Shout Factory and Brian Ward choose their TV release projects based on what is available, (rights-wise) and what is popular enough to make a successful release and profit margin. Obviously, "COW boys of Moo Mesa" doesn't make the cut, or not yet, anyways.

RE: Update's for "Bump in the Night" release

Listen kid, if you had read my post, which was not directed toward you in the first place, you would understand that the point I was making was that if Shout was putting out a medicore show like Bump, it should put other medicore DIC shows out too. Furthermore, no where in my post did I so much state in any possible way that Moo Mesa was my quote "favorite show", i would actually go so far to say as it probally wouldnt fit into my top 20....if it did it would be toward 20. Yeah man...thats what I do I spend my time ranting on this forum and going to every post saying my quote fav show Moos mesa is better than it and it should be put out before your fav is. If you noticed i said it was my opinion, as in other people can like the show but i personally think i didnt like the toon, and the reason i didnt like the show is because i was about 14 and remember it very well, its was corny, like most 90's toons, my post was not there to bash it. I was simply stating that if Shout is going to continue to pull from the DIC catalog they should give all the shows a shot, but whatever I respect you like the show, if you would read anywhere else on these forums you would see even if i didnt like a show i still dont diss fans, and i respect them for what they like. If you read my post you would see I wasnt bashing Bump, i simply stated that i couldnt stand it, i didnt sit there and diss it, I gave my personal opinion, its called free speech.

RE: Update's for "Bump in the Night" release
On the contrary, I did in fact read your post. Thats pretty much why I wrote in response to it...

Alright, maybe it isn't your favourite show, but I think your missing the point here. The point is, this topic is not for complaints about what Shout isn't releasing. "...not releasing your favourite show..." is a general statement meant to apply to anyone that may try to pull the same trick as you.

Listen up, Trusty, you were pretty out of line with your little rant there. Good, so you aren't "dissing" the show, but the fact remains that you used a topic about a release you find mediocre, as a plug for something you'd rather get. Don't insult the good people hear at Shout by cutting down their choices in DVD release, and don't insult their intelligence by thinking that you can just complain and complain in every topic until they give in. They get to decide what their projects are, and we, the consumers, get to put in little suggestions that they may evaluate. Don't shove a show done their throat just because you don't get what you want.

Now, I don't know B Ward  very well, but I know his work in DVD releases and on this site. He is a very nice guy. He takes time out of his day to spend on these forums. We are lucky that this operation exists, where we can politely give feedback on what we would like to see. You are not in the position to call the shots here, and if you're not seeing the results you want, that's tough luck. Please don't spam senselessly about it.

Anyhow, this has escalated enough. Please, lets just back on topic here. If aren't a particular fan of Bump in the Night, then please do not post here, especially if the post has nothing to do with the show.

RE: Update's for "Bump in the Night" release
I am not going to sit here and even argue with something this trival and annal. Its called cross-reference, Shout has put out most of there best stuff on dvd so far left in the DIC catalog. COW Boys is not their best by far, and i would consider Bump in the same category, otherwise they would have been released long before. I am very sincerely sorry that i didnt create my own post to cross-reference this in, but it wasnt important enough in the first place to warrant me to do that, i read your post in passing and made a comment that was indirectly related to it, you make it out like i was up on a pedastel ranting on every post on these forums about this, i made a passing comment, this is a public forum and its all cartoon related, look at other posts people have made, they do get "off subject" as well.....thats the last i will say on the matter its closed.

RE: Update's for "Bump in the Night" release
I agree that it's a silly argument. I'm sorry I blew it up as much as I did. I guess I was just worrying about keeping the topic ON topic, but ironically settled on a certain detail.

Incidentally, I looked up this Moo Mesa show. It looks alright. It seems everything in that era was animal mutations. Cows driving cattle is a little funny too. Similar style to TMNT. I agree, though; it definitely warrants a DVD release, though according to Brian, Shout is just worried that it would not fill a minimum of  15 000  purchases.  I guess they're looking to make a profit, and I'm just not sure if this show has enough fans who would fill those numbers.

RE: Update's for "Bump in the Night" release
Wow.  I leave for a couple of days (in order to wrap up production on a couple of DVDs, mind you...) and look what happens.

I would like to agree, though.  Let's use each thread to talk about that particular topic.  Don't use them to vault onto other shows we'd like to see on DVD and why.

That said, Trust, we've officially postponed production on Bump In The Night.  There are some issues that need to be worked out before we can hit the streets with this one.  Don't worry.  I'm not officially declaring it an impossibility.  We just don't know when things will be taken care of, so I don't want to make any immediate promises.  I'll keep you updated.

Brian

Unfortunately, it's not something I'm at liberty to divulge, but things like this have happened before.  An excellent example is Captain N: The Game Master, which we all thought was down for the count.  Still, we managed to clear everything up and ended up releasing a nice set.  I expect the same to happen with Bump In The Night.  Be patient and I'll keep you up to date.
