Many of these have ben out of print for thirty or more years. You've done a swell job with the ones you've put out so far, but we need more!

While we're thrilled to see the new releases, not everyone can take advantage of iTunes, and believe it or not, some people do not even have a computer. So please consider mass marketing "Warm," "The Brass are Comin'" and "Vol.II." Thanks for the opportunity to be heard. We fans appreciate all you've done for Herb and the TJB so far. |

However, we need "Volume 2", "Warm", and "Brass Are Comin" on CD as well. Please do not overlook these titles as they have been LONG overdue. Also, we have been patiently awaiting the rest of the TJB's on CD. Please don't let this project end without releasing them.
Sincerely,
David L.

Don't get me wrong - I was totally floored when I saw that you had released many of their core albums. I am very thankful that you decided to re-release the originals on CD. Thank you for immortalizing these tour de force albums.
Also, I could not believe how crisp the recordings were - clearer than when I heard them on vinyl! I felt as if Herb, his Horn, and his talented gang were right in the room!
However, we are still missing classics such as "The Brass Are Coming" (I have the original vinyl record, which is better than nothing) containing the masterpiece, "The Maltese Melody", "Greatest Hits Vol. 2" with the gem, "Zazueira" and the incredible first album with Hugh Masekela (the one with 'Skokiaan").
The TJB are back in a big way, thanks to you. I hope to see these albums, as well.
THANK YOU for making our musical world brighter, a lot brighter, by giving us more of the greatest trumpet player this world has ever seen!

I hope we eventually get to see The Brass Are Comin', Warm, and Summertime on CD. These would complete the original TJB catalogue. Those are also happen to be my three favorite TJB recordings--there are really great. They weren't originally the most popular, but I've always had the impression that they better reflected Mr. Alpert's personal taste than the eariler ones, and they have really held up well over time--they don't sound dated in the least.
Even better would be a box set of the complete TJB, with a booklet that provides proper annotation to the sessions.
Please!!!

It's not available on CD, just tried to download the MP3 files from Amazon and iTunes but I live in the UK so I can't! So I can import CD's and region 1 DVD's but I can't buy MP3's. Warm is however free to download on a file share website or at least the link appears active. Other people are selling the LP's with a CDR.
CD's are cheap to make these days so whats the problem? You could sell us a CD image that we could download and burn. How about FLAC files? At least make the MP3's available in the UK.
A DVD / blu-ray with rare clips from his shows and music videos remastered like the ones on youtube would also be nice. |
