Member since: 9/9/2007 | | Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors | | Meredith here,
Before I ask my question about the Jayce Vol. 1 DVD set, I just wanted to say that, according to tvshowsondvd.com, Shout!'s upcoming release of Oban Star Racers Vol. 1 WILL be followed by Oban Vol. 2 to complete that series.
Now, about Jayce: Any assurances that Jayce Vol. 1 DVD set will be followed by a Jayce Vol. 2 set (concluding that series)? Before I commit to the Jayce Vol. 1 set, I would like to ask if you (Shout!) can make a Jayce Vol. 2 set EXCLUSIVELY FOR ME for just in case Jayce Vol. 1 does not sell well???
PLEASE let me know before I make my commitment for Jayce Vol. 1 in April.
Thanks,
Meredith65 |

I simply wanted to point out that Oban is "being promised" to be released as a complete series. And I am hoping like heck that "Jayce" would get similar treatment. I love "Jayce", and I will go ahead and buy "Jayce" Vol. 1 with caution.
I, personally, just don't see anything special, let alone unique, about Oban Star Racers. On the other hand, "Jayce" was a too under-rated cartoon series and was, in my opinion, a very close second best toon of 1985 next to "ThunderCats". "Jayce was THAT GOOD!!!!!!! "Jayce" deserves better than just half the series....much better!!!!

Member since: 1/12/2007 | | RE: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors | We've already begun working on the preliminary stuff for Jayce Vol. 2. We don't have any official dates set out or anything, but our plan is to release it sometime this year.
As for Oban Star-Racers, we're talking about a series considerably shorter and, therefore, easier to release. For the price of what's essentially a four-disc set, we're releasing the complete series, unlike Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, which will require twice as many discs.
BTW-- I have, personally, never gotten behind an animated series the way I am currently getting behind Oban Star-Racers. I don't think I've ever seen a series quite like it and I am highly encouraging anyone and everyone to pick up at least the first volume, whether you buy it, rent it, or check it out from your local library, this show deserves to be seen. We're not expecting a huge hit with this one. As I mentioned in the Oban thread, this is strictly a labor of love for me.

Member since: 4/9/2007 | | RE: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors | Brian, I have a question, and I know the whole "COPS" issue has somewhat been run into the ground, but I was wondering why is Shout doing prelimary work on Jayce vol 2 when Jayce vol 1 hasnt even been released yet? I mean this is just my opinion but Jayce isnt a sure seller....I was just wondering why vol 2 was in prelim work....I guess also what i'm saying is, if Jayce vol 1 doesnt sell up to par, is Shout going to go on and release vol 2 anyway? If so thats were the COPS thing comes in......we really do need vol 2 and 3 of COPS.

bammybam Member since: 9/12/2007 | | RE: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors | Much like Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, I now officially hope we never see more COPS on dvd.
Not only has it been run into the ground in the past, and been proven through multiple petitions that people just don't CARE about the show (I used to be, but I'm tired of the same half dozen people going on about Shout being evil/wrong/etc because they won't release more of a show that massively BOMBED), you have made me hope we never see more, just because I'm tired of seeing about it from you guys, and I know not having more pains you. |

Anyway, a Best Buy where I live put it out early (well actually, I saw it on the trolley), and so I got it. I actually have it right now. I look forward to vol. 2 with much anticipation... |

Member since: 3/23/2008 | | RE: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors | Hey B: In another post you talk about the J&WW movie script and the possibility of it seeing light as an extra on the Vol. 2 DVD. Is the script in a complete form? Is it owned by DIC or the writer? How was it given to you?
If Vol. 2 depends on the sales of Vol. 1, will Shout do a purely digital release instead of packaging and distributing it in stores?
Thanks, I have been waiting for this release since the early 90's. Now, if you can only get Exo-Squad, Project Geeker, and Toxic Avengers complete box sets that would make my life. |

Member since: 1/19/2008 | | RE: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors | | Brian, I just watched Disc 1 of my Jayce DVD, and I've been wondering about something. What's up with the "Ghostship" episode? It appeared to have been sourced from a PAL print (with the opening and closing "redubbed"); I can tell by the way it "streaked" for lack of a better term, as well as the fact that the sound (in the episode itself) was a half-step higher than it was supposed to be. Did you encounter any kind of problems with this particular episode? Can you elaborate on this? Thanks. |

Member since: 3/23/2008 | | RE: Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors | Can you share how many units Jayce Vol. 1 did it's first week?
I bought it. I live in NYC and out of all the Best Buy locations only 1 (broadway and 62nd) had 2 units. They did not have them out Tuesday. I came back last Friday and they still didn't have them out. I had to go to Virgin in Union SQ where they had 3 units. |
