Where in the World/Time Is Carmen Sandiego
I doubt this would be a good title to put out (due to the poor sales of the DIC Cartoon version) but, could you look into Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego, and Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego.  These were two great game shows, I especailly liked Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego.  Both shows advertised the games by the same name (as well as Where in Eroupe Is Carmen Sandiego, and the most difficult Carmen game, and my favorite, Where in Space Is Carmen Sandiego).  Maybe the release of either show could boost sales of the Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego Volume 1 dvd set leading to further volumes.
Both game shows contained entertaing segments involving the day's criminal.  The
Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego game show also contained the first broadcast of the "Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego" song (sung by a group called Rockapella who would be replaced by a dance group in Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego) that would be included on future Where ... is Carmen Sandiego PC games.

I say a big AMEN to this idea.  And the logic is great.  Releasing episodes of the gameshow could possibly boost sales of the cartoon's first season and legitimize the release of the last 3 seasons.  Perhaps a "best of" collection of the "Where In the World" shows would be a good starting point (it was quite a bit more popular than "Where In Time").  If it worked, a season-by-season release could be in order.  Sales would likely see a jumpstart via the fanbase of Rockapella (who did not sing the theme to "Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?", the "Where In the World" theme was very different).  Shout!, please consider this.  You have taken on the difficult task of preserving the childhood of a generation with some value left in its media (contrary to popular belief).  Carmen Sandiego, in all her forms, was a staple of that generation.

I'm not really sure how well games shows--even those educational--would sell.  And, as we saw with our first volume of Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego?, we're not sure Miss Sandiego has the draw she once did.  It's a sad thought, since I thought the show was pretty spectacular and loved working on the set, but very few picked it up.  Just not sure how well the game shows would do.  After all, once you've watched a kid win each episode, would you really likely put the disc back into your DVD player to watch them win with the same questions over and over again?

I guess that makes sense but there might still be a market for this game show.  After all I seen releases of dvd collections of Family Feud, and  just recently a dvd set of The Price is Right was announced.  Imagine the replay value on The Price Is Right, there probably isn't that much, yet it's being sold for $39.98.  If this game show can be sold in a collection then there might be a chance for an educational game show like Carmen Sandiego.

I am too but as far as i knew other then word of mouth from the previous sets (mostly Video Game sets) and few pieces of Ads in Magazines, I dont think Carmen Sandiego or C.O.P.S. even had any type of ad space at all, which is why they did poorly on release day.

Most of the people I've talked to remember the game show better than the animated series. They really liked "World" and some people liked it better than the Nick game shows that were airing at the time. Plus, everybody thought that theme song was catchy. It plays occasionally on a Dish TV audio station I have called "Kid Tunes". I think a "best of" set for the game show has the potenital to sell well, and if they put a trailer for the animated show on the DVD, it might help sales for that set.
