You don't have to tell us what they are, but just if we may be able to expect any special features on the set. Thanks! |

But I wish you would have used a different picture for the Hazel S.2 cover other than the exact same picture already used in the interior of the Season 1 set. I've seen many different pictures of Hazel and the entire Hazel cast that would have made an excellent cover picture. Why use the same picture already used in the S.1 set, there are surely many pictures to choose from other than the couple already used on the S.1 set.
But I am so glad to be finally getting the next Hazel season you could have put a picture of a lizard on the cover and I would have bought it. Please keep the seasons of Hazel coming as fast as you did for Dennis The Menace. And please keep the Kojak seasons coming too, I look forward to buying these. |

What I can say, though, is that we're not always given copies of previous sets and when research is done for covers, they tend to only look at the covers. If that photo didn't appear as the cover of S1, it's safe to say they thought it was a good picture and thought it was fair game.
That being said, we're very specific about what kind of images we need for packaging. Aesthetically, the images have to be suitable for whatever their intended purpose, but they also have to be at a resolution high enough for print (300dpi). I've seen many images of Hazel online, but I've seen very few at a high enough resolution. And even id we did find the photo by doing a Google search, we have to license that image from the owner (whoever took the photo and/or the studio, if they own the rights to the image).
So you see, we're not always given a ton of photo assets and create the best covers with those we have. Personally, while I didn't see the packaging for S1, I think the cover for S2 is nice. I like her expression and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the show. Hope you guys are, too!

Actually I like the picture on the cover. I also like the just released picture on the cover of season 3 that I saw on www.tvshowsondvd.com Thanks to you and Brian Blum for listening to us! |

But I hate to tell you this but even the S.3 cover picture is ALSO a picture used in the S.1 set!! Now I know there must be dozens of Hazel & CAST pictures that are available for use, why keep choosing pictures that were ALREADY used in the Season 1 set? Surely they made more than 3 publicity shots for Hazel, a little creativity would be appreciated and using pictures NOT already used is really not too much to expect. But as I said, I've been so desperate for Hazel releases for so long, a lizard cover would still be bought by me. But really, pick photos that aren't already used in S. 1, there are plenty others to choose from. |

I assure you, these images aren't always as readily available as you seem to think. For instance, Route 66 aired for four seasons. Wanna know how many photos we've been able to round up? Four. And two of those are publicity stills taken outside the studio stage. So they're not exactly cover worthy.

Member since: 7/14/2011 | | RE: Mr. Ward, any clues to the "extras" on S2 of Hazel this month? | | About 2 years ago I looked for Hazel pictures to go with my DVD set that I made up from recordings. I found many photos of Hazel & cast, one I remember was from a RCA color TV ad, another showed Hazel holding a sign about voting, 2 of them were of Mr. B & Hazel at Christmas time, another was of Mr. B & Hazel from a TV Guide cover, another showed Mrs. B & Hazel and there were some pictures too of the Season 5 cast with Hazel. If I was home right now I could tell you about more pictures I found on the internet and printed. If you do a search for Shirley Booth Hazel or "Hazel TV show pictures" or even look on Ebay, I remember I found a lot of Shirley Booth pictures there. They're around. But I'm sorry if I've been too stern on this, believe me, I'm very grateful to get these Hazel seasons and only want to see them be at their best. I'm thrilled to see Hazel in full 25 min. versions, that's the best news of all! |

Unfortunately, the images that are online are often somewhere around 72dpi, whereas we need them to be 300dpi for print. We can't copy and paste photos from a Google search and professionally print packaging. And, as mentioned before, we have to have these pictures licensed from whoever owns them, be it the photographer or the studio/network. If there's no clear line of ownership, we cannot use the photo in question, for risk of being sued by the owner.
Believe it or not, a lot goes into these packages and things you instinctively think are no-brainers are actually a lot more difficult and have a lot more hurdles, both physically and legally, than you think. I'm not saying these images aren't out there. I'm saying we don't necessarily have them as physical high-res images and we don't necessarily have the legal rights to use them.
I'll certainly pass the information along. Thanks!
