Why dnt shout for shows like cops or any other or any in the future if the sales aitn high enough to makea set...... then make a basic dvd image that can be pruchased online and downlaoded and burned. then it be offical but ti only have a plain menu just with the abilty to select episodes and the epsidoe themself not resotred or anything even if there damaged. So means fans can get all epsiode on offical dvd shout wont need to worry about the sales so everyoen is happy then if the downlaod sales is very high you coudl release it with extras and proper menus |

Our deal with DiC was made before downloadable content was so popular, so we don't have the authority to make the episodes available via the internet.
Great idea. Just not something we can do.

What are we willing to spend for something we don't know how many will actually be downloaded? There's a lot more that goes into these things than you think. Everyone has to come out happy and profitable or it just isn't worth the time and money spent.

We tried with C.O.P.S. and not nearly enough people bought it. The online petitions haven't done so well, either. The fan base just isn't as big for this one as the one for something like He-Man, Transformers, G.I. Joe, or even The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! It breaks my heart, as I'm a huge fan of C.O.P.S., but it simply doesn't have the nostalgic pull I thought it did.
Sorry.

I know several people would probably take unrestored no frill DVD-R's if you could do that, some people are willing to buy them illegally, and a number of those would rather do it legally. You could make few extra bob like this legally unless something in your deal prevents you from doing things in such a manner. |

I have read before that some people from Rhino founded Shout.....well Rhino years ago put out three-quarters of the Sunbow GI Joe series on dvd......do they still one the rights to it? and could Shout somehow get the rights and re-release them? Rhino did a shotty job on cleaning the cartoon up.
