Small Wonder should be out as a complete series
I love this show so much and I want Seasons 3 & 4 so badly that if Shout put out a Complete Series I'd buy it and eat the other two purchases I made. I honestly want it that bad.

No joke!   I would buy the complete series just to get all of this series.

However shout factory seems to hate small wonder because they lost money on it.  So they will screw the fans, and never release the the last two seasons.

OMG, could you be anymore wrong?

No, they do not hate Small Wonder. If anything, they would love nothing better than to finish the series. Also, you can't blame Shout! Factory for not finishing the series. You can only blame Fox Film Corporation. Rumor has it that Shout and Fox's relationship with each other has completely gone south, due to Shout being unable to come to a reasonable and realistic agreement with them.

And if you're wondering why no one at either party has disclosed this information, that's because they don't want you, or anybody else to know what's really going on between the two parties. In other words, it's all kept secret behind closed doors. But despite this, there are clues to indicate that said relationship has gone south.

Zaxxar, did I not go on a rant about listening/spreading rumors about our relationships with studios a week or two ago?  No one on this forum has any idea what kind of relationship we have with Fox or any other studio.  People need to stop posting about relationships headed south, when all they're doing is regurgitating what they've read on Home Theater Forum.

The fact is that Small Wonder is an extremely niche show.  It's not expected that everyone who's ever turned on a television would want to own a series like this.  If we made everything we acquired into a complete series set, we'd go out of business quickly.

The reality is sales projections vs. actual sales.  If they don't sell, it's understood that there doesn't appear to be a demand for it.  Small Wonder didn't sell well.  It has nothing to do with our relationship with Fox.

RE: Small Wonder should be out as a complete series
Brian, I deeply apologize and am sorry for assuming this. The truth is, there's something I don't like about Fox, and I hope you'll understand why.

Even before you guys got involved with them, Fox has never shown any interest whatsoever in their classic TV library. For me, their classic TV library consists anything before Fox Broadcasting Company was established in October 1986, and very rarely, if ever, is it syndicated. Also, just about all the other major studios have at least done something with their classic TV library on DVD. Universal has been licensing out like never before, Warner is putting out more and more vintage titles that they otherwise would never have released on their Warner Archives Program, and I don't need to say anything about Sony and Paramount, because they too are at least doing something with them. Yet Fox, for some reason, seems to be the only one reluctant to do so, and I can't put my finger on why. Is it possible that they're currently playing it safe, and are waiting for the right occasion to do so?

They're also the reasons Room 222 was not remastered. They could have done so if they wanted to, as the original 35mm elements do exist, but they didn't want to. Plain and simple. They rarely, if ever, remaster. They also screwed up The Big Valley on DVD. They first released season 1 in the form of double-sided discs, then split season 2 into 2 volumes, released only volume 1 (on double-sided discs no less!) and charged them the exact same price as season 1!

These reasons above, are why many over at HTF have criticized Fox's attitudes towards classic TV.

I would love a Small Wonder complete series. Can it come packaged in a replica VICKI? Also can Shout! buy cow parts in bulk and pack them with the DVDs so it seems semi-organic? MAKE IT GHAPPEN!

I'm just curious, should we give up asking about this show since it sounds like you're done based on the sales of the first two seasons? That statement kind of sounds like fans will never see season 3 or 4 on DVD from Shout.

I would love it if Small Wonder came out as a complete series or if they completed Seasons 3 and 4! Season 3 is the one I want most. I bought Seasons 1 and 2.

I will not give up hope.  I  will keep posting on occasion to let Shout Factory know I wish to own all of the episodes of Small Wonder.

I'd love to see at least 3 & 4 released.  Maybe re-thinking some advertising for seasons 1 & 2?  Like TV Land, etc?  If people were reminded about the show, they may buy them.

Small Wonder didn't sell well. Just A theory - could it be because it's a 4 disc set? you're breaking Nickelodeon shows down into 2 part releases if a full season takes 4 discs. just an idea - but maybe that work for small wonder
