Latest C.O.P.S. Petition Tally
Me again.

Just drop by to tell you guys that the latest signature tally on my C.O.P.S. petition is now up to 168, going up on 170. I have another petition out on petitionspot.com also made to encourage SF to release the rest of C.O.P.S. on DVD, too which you're welcome to take a look at and add signatures to anytime. I'm having support coming from the guys over at C.O.P.S. HQ help me out in this so that I can have more people sign the petition and get more people to tell shout factory to release the rest of the series on DVD. So thus far, the petition drive is going along good. If anyone has not sign the petition, please do so.

You never know.  We pay attention to things like that, but we're gonna need a lot more than 170 signatures.

I glad Shout pays attention to things like that, and yes way more than 170 sig would be needed......Brian are we talking like thousands of signatures? Or just in the 3 digit range?

We're talking 4-5 digits... Because you have to figure the number of people who actually do buy it will be less, due to people saying "I wish I had it, but can't afford it right now" or whatever.  So there has to be enough people on the list that once you factor out the percentage of people that won't buy it, we still have enough people that will to make it worthwhile.

RE: Latest C.O.P.S. Petition Tally
Obviously the only way I can get a lot of signatures is to make a myspace page which promotes the C.O.P.S. series.or load up video samples of C.O.P.S. on Youtube just like I did before and encourage people to sign the petition to release the complete series on DVD. But, because of security issues I'm not willing to sign up for myspace and other social sites like it and since there is a big hot ordeal about copyright violations, I was forced to take all of my samples of C.O.P.S. off of youtube. Now I want to put them back, but I'm afraid that the people behind the copyright issue would go after and forced me to take the videos out of youtube again for  violating copyright laws. I understand that I need to go to DiC to get their permission to load up the cartoon samples onto youtube, but I also want to get you Shout Factory's permission to load up samples from the DVD also. I need you guys' advice. What should I do to get tons of signatures on the petition without having to pay a single penny to do it and how am I going to tell DiC and you guys that I request permission to load up the samples on Youtube?

Unless DIC, Shout and who ever else has rights on it are willing ot let oyu do it for free which i doubt oyu wobnt be able to or you have to do it illegally and not remove it when requested but i wouldnt recommenmebed that. unfortnally i cant see any way you could do it unless brian might be able to help with maybe have sampe,s on shout site

i pretty much understand the whole copyright thing, but in this case....its free advertisement, plus the possible lead in to more volume releases of COPS, which is other wise going to stand dormant like it has been. Brian hypothetically say there were enough sigs on the petition to warrant Shout to release more COPS on dvd.... there what roughly 44 episodes left, could Shout release all 44 episodes on say 6 discs and be done with it, or would it have to be a seperate vol 2 and 3 thing, just hypothetically.

RE: Latest C.O.P.S. Petition Tally
Man, I wish you could spell right, andrewcrawford. As a matter of fact, I do have all the 22 episodes of C.O.P.S. ripped from my DVD boxset on my PC. I also have software that will allow me to create samples for the series to load up on Youtube as well. I have only the YouTube standard account that allows me to load up videos under 100 MB. Since other accounts are so expensive, I'd rather stick to the standard version which allows me to only upload C.O.P.S. for Kids Segments and sample clips from the show. I have the samples Shout Factory has on their C.O.P.S. page I downloaded and burned on a CD. I've used them before. I did have all C.O.P.S. for Kids segments load up on YouTube one time. But I had to take them off after I heard news about Youtube getting tougher on copyright infringements and install a software that would rip off their site ever clip and episode of every TV show and movies by the time September rolls around. Now it's the end of September and I still have yet to see whether they really did install the software or not. Thus far I've been searching all over YouTube for C.O.P.S. videos and other types of classic cartoon videos and I found lots of them are still there.

I'm all for releasing the second season. I'd purchase it. A dvd store I frequent has Cops Season 1 in the first row as soon as you walk in the store. It has been sitting there for over a year, same copy, so sad. I purchased it soon after release.
