More Sets of Rocko's Modern Life
Brian,
Can you please give me an update on when Rocko's Modern Life Seasons 2, 3, and 4 are going to be released on DVD, so that I can complete the series? Thank you.

Shout Factory doesn't know yet. When Shout Factory has a release date, they will let everyone know. I am hoping that Rocko's Modern Life Season 2 comes out either in the end of 2011 or early 2012. That goes the same with Hey Arnold Season 2.

I wonder if these are selling good? I know Brian can't give numbers but people have been begging for these shows for years.

Given the demand for such a good show, I can wager that the show is selling good, but not good enough. Unless there's a really big fanbase who won't buy the DVD until they hear about a fix that will make "The Good, The Bad, and the Wallaby" uncut, as it should be!

Yoshi, I think you overestimate the numbers of people who know or care about the edit. Most DVD consumers don't spend their time hanging out on the Internet, reading about potential edits to their favorite shows. They grew up with it, they saw it in the store or in an ad and they buy their copies. DVDphiles, no matter how much you want to believe otherwise, aren't the majority, just as no fanatic is the majority of any fan base. The simple truth is that the everyday TV viewer doesn't even notice of the 2-3 minutes edited from their favorite episodes of FRIENDS while watching them on syndication, let alone an animated series from their youth.

Info on Season 2 release!:

http://forums.goldenagecartoons.com/showthread.php?t=15990

"Joe Murray wrote on his Facebook page that he made a deal with Shout! Factory to design the cover for it (he hated the cover design for the season 1 set and even considered drawing up a new one for the fans to print off). Apparently they will also try to work out bonus features, but nothing on that so far."

Special thanks to GAC Forum Member Cbrubaker for the info!

Could this also mean more work will be done to find uncut versions of certain episodes? If not, that's OK with me. Better that than having those Ren and Stimpy episodes edited-to-hell versions on the DVD releases.

Well, even with that said, you can still certainly count on the Road Rash episode being edited.

That missing scene was only screened once in the whole world. And it was a hilarious one too. Shame on you Nickelodeon censors!

But despite everything, I'm surprised Nickelodeon didn't go back and re-edit the name of the hang-out in the show Chokey Chicken to "Chewy Chicken" in the earlier episodes. I heard two stories as to why it was changed to "Chewy Chicken" in the later episodes. One that it implied choking to death, another was that it represented a slang for touching yourself. I'm inclined to believe it was the latter.

Yeah, I think we'll be seeing more of Rocko soon enough. Brian Ward even said on the Nick Schedule forum that many follow ups/titles are being worked on right now! Plus, Joe Muarry's site does confirm a season 2! I hope to see this new release out by December. After all, it contains Rocko's Modern Christmas, a personal favorite of mine!

I noticed they changed the Episodes since I was waiting for some of the more shocking jokes from this series that I remember as a Kid to pop up again in the epidoes and they do not I noticed when they vanish. Or I think I am crazy and I just thought it was there. THe milk machine joke in the cowboy episode is also on the first vhs tapes you can buy of this show and I watched them a million times so I remember it line for line almost and anybody else who did will notice it is gone and be annoyed and most likey wont go on the internet and find where to complain and that is just from my casual viewing. Also I want the entire series on my shelf as soon as possible to watch any time I Want. with the production model sheet cards of the characters inside, (i have seen these model sheets on line and I would love a nice clear smaller printed card replica in the boxes at least of rocko heffer and filburt.)
