If only Shout factory had been honest from the get go about not completeing this series. With their story constantly changing its not looking good for this series to be finished. Another show shout factory screwed up on dvd.

If only Shout factory had been honest from the get go about not completeing this series. With their story constantly changing its not looking good for this series to be finished. Another show shout factory screwed up on dvd.

Mr. Belvedere was a terrific series and I was looking forward to seeing the rest of the series released. I don't understand why Shout! is not releasing the balance of the series. What did they say?

A year ago I emailed them asking when season 5 would be released. I got a reply that fall 2010 then I emailed shout asking when season 5 would be released they had said we are still going to release season 5 we just want to sell a few more copies and then they said that the sales were poor and now they are saying they would love to continue the series but no longer have the rights.

We won't see season 5 but I would love to tell the people of shoutfactory what I think. I don't like being told over emails that you guys are going to do something and than as a customer being lied to.

A man who's afraid to admit that this company has told so many lies, this delightful work of fiction from Brian Ward being the most prominent example:

"I actually think we did very well with getting the COMPLETE (emphasis mine) episodes of Rhoda. I will forwarn you that there are some OCCASIONAL (emphasis mine) tape problems, simply from the age and storage of the material, but I don't think it'll distract from your entertainment too much."

After Brian Ward got caught telling lies like that, I really can't see how people can take him seriously anymore.

He's been posting all kinds of questionable stuff on these boards today. Hey SHOUT FACTORY, you guys might want to clean up this problem before this imposter gives you and the real Brian a bad name.

This is great news sbut it still doenst make up for all the other crap you pulled. Why just the fifth season why not the sixth as well? You release another season and then leave it dangling. Season 5 had some of my favorite episodes. If Shout! Factory no longer has the rights to Mr. Belvedere, who does? Maybe some other company looked at the sales and decided that if they could buy the rights, they could make more money with better marketing or something. I have never seen Mr. Belvedere DVDs advertised on television. A show that ran for that many seasons must have been loved by enough people to keep it on the air that long. I think not enough people knew about the DVDs.

I'm sure plenty of people are aware of the DVDs. Except that they'd rather wait for all 6 seasons to come out and THEN buy them. They think that's the smart thing to do, when in reality, it's not. People, please, it's not hard at all to buy the sets. It was easy for me, why should it be hard for you? Please, do your part. It's not THAT hard.

I still think Shout! Factory should try to make an effort to get the final two seasons. They're the only ones who can get the series right. Anyone else who tries to release them (including Fox themselves), will probably just butcher them beyond belief.

Side note: Why hasn't Mill Creek put out a best of set, like they've done with the other Shout! shows? Finally, I noticed that amazon got rid of their sales rankings for ALL products.

On some other forum someone said they were surprised mr belvedere made it to season 4. I have to agree until they figure out how to get the whole series out your going to continue to see this on all there shows.

I'm surprised too (but happy nevertheless) that Shout! made it this far. I thought they never would, given how incredibly unpopular its syndication history was. But I still wish they would release the final two seasons on DVD already.

They said in one of their emails, when asked about the shows' future, that they still needed to sell a few more copies of season 4. Well, hopefully, some people, who haven't bought season 4 yet, are reading this, and will buy whatever few copies are needed to greenlight season 5 right now.

I'm still disappointed that my video campaign didn't work out. My YouTube video was to get more fans who hadn't bought seasons 1-4 to do so right now. I clearly told them to buy them right now, because the chances of finishing the series would be much better than if they just waited for a complete series. The idea came about after I saw Zaranyzerak do the same thing for one of his favorite shows in C.O.P.S. Except my video was done much simpler (it was done in authorstream).

And even with all that work I did, not enough fans followed my lead, and I still don't know why. Was my presentation too simplistic for them? Would they have preferred a more elaborate video with me on camera or something (like Zaranyzerak did with his C.O.P.S. vids)? I even posted in the comments of many Mr. B videos to please watch my video, trying to promote it as much as I could.

Thanks guys for your support. I always appreciate more fans of this long-running, but criminally overlooked series, following my lead. With more fans becoming aware of me, and my attempts in getting the word out, I know that sales will eventually be enough to convince shout factory community to release the final two seasons.

A word of advice: Try buying multiple copies of seasons 1-4. Hopefully, that will be enough to greenlight season 5.
