Hmm, how about Monster Rancher?
After seeing that Shout! seems to be expanding their horizons to anime, I thought to myself, "Hmm, how about Monster Rancher?"

Monster Rancher was a really popular show on Fox Kids back in the heydays of "monster battle shows" such as Pokemon and Digimon.

Digiview got the DVD rights to all 78(?) episodes. They released 1 meager disc with 7 episodes, and it was very hard to find. As of right now, they appear to be doing absolutely nothing with the series. So, what are the chances of Shout! scoring the DVD rights from them and giving the series a respectable release?

I happen to like Monster Rancher. Unfortunately since Monster Rancher  is currently being distributed by a company called DigiView shout probally cant get it  You can get a dvd with the first 8 episodes at Wall-Mart for $5.  Hopefully they'll release more volumes.

You can get a few more on Amazon. Monster Rancher has to be one of the very best of the forgotten animé shows. I just can't think of anything like it. How much did the characters in Digimon have to do in the battles? Not a thing until Season 3! Genki was so good that even the other characters began to speculate on what he really was.

Bring it back!
Bring back Monster Rancher!

RE: Hmm, how about Monster Rancher?

Monster Rancher was a fantastic anime! Ocean did a great job on the english dub (including the legendary Brian Drummond as Tiger and Scott McNeil as several other characters), and for a kids show it had some pretty dark themes to it. It's sad because ADV Films only released only the first twelve episodes on VHS and a few episodes on DVD, and although Digiview got the rights to all 73 episodes, it only released the first eight episodes as cheap Wal-Mart DVD's. Japan, on the other hand, has released every episode on three box sets.

Shout! Factory really needs to release a Monster Rancher: The Complete Series box set containing all 73 episodes with it's original english intro. If a largely unknown show like Medabots (don't get me wrong, I loved that show) was picked up by Shout! Factory, certainly Monster Rancher could (and should) be as well.

I remember the last episode of Monster Rancher I watched was a major cliffhanger, so I never got to see the rest of the series. Please Shout! Factory, release the complete series of this amazing show!!

RE: Hmm, how about Monster Rancher?

I was a fan of Monster Rancher back in the days, but I highly doubt Shout! Factory will release the series on DVD. Brian already told us sales of Medabots were not that great and they would not even try to get Digimon, which is far more popular than Monster Rancher in my opinion....

So, I truely hope the series get a proper release someday, but I would not count on Shout! Factory for that...

Well remember how Shout Factory wasn't going to release Beast Wars: Transformers originally either? It all requires demand from the fans to show that there will be enough sales.

We really need jmodlin210 aka "Jonny" in here to keep pestering them, like he did for Beast Wars. He single-handedly got them to put that series out on DVD.
