Hey just picked up a copy of Lucky Lady yesterday at HMV here in Vancouver. I NEVER thought I'd see this on DVD and everything about this release looks great. I especially love the promo films from the time that you were able to dig up for the special features. Even while they were making it they seemed to know it was gonna be a huge $$$$ losing mess. Burt Reynolds especially is so sarcastic about how long it was taking to film. Liza's sister Lorna Luft has about 5 pages in her '98 book "Me and My Shadows" about dating Reynolds during the filming of Lucky Lady (the tv movie made of her book only focussed on the parts of the book about her mother Judy Garland). After meeting Reynolds at the premiere of Peter Bogdanovich's At Long Last Love, Liza had her come down to the Mexican set of Lucky Lady to see Burt who had just split from Dinah Shore. The stress of the times must have been adding up as Luft claims that her first dinner date with Reynold's ended with her helping him through a panic attack.
So now that you have done such a stupendous job on this release... how about something even more difficult... like the two pictures Reynolds did with the ever prickly Peter Bogdanovich - At Long Last Love (1975 20th Cent. Fox) and Nickelodeon (1976 Columbia) - his expensive followups to What`s Up Doc and Paper Moon which also feature besides Reynolds: Cybill Shepherd & Madeline Khan in "Love" and Ryan & Tatum O'Neal in Nickelodeon. I can't be the only one who wants to see these!
