Given that Shout! seems so very in tune with this show (in some ways much more so than Rhino ever was) it would be nice to have Jordan Fields, or someone else, conduct a series of Podcast interviews with the writers and performers of MST3K. As well as the people behind bringing us these wonderful box sets.
I know I, for one, would love to be able to listen to those (hypothetical) podcasts.
Just a thought. |

There's a finite amount of information that can be discussed about MST3K, since it's a show that's completed its production run. And most of the gang has kinda said a lot of what they want to say. And not just once, but multiple times. I'm afraid we'd start getting really repetitive, if we cover that information in too many different formats.
Secondly, it's also about schedules. Jordan's extremely busy with acquisitions. And that's just his day job! He also has a beautiful family at home, so there isn't a lot of free time. Aside from a Shout! Factory host, we're also needing to take into account the regular schedules of the cast and crew, which is also fairly busy with the new ventures, family, travel, etc. And, again, there is a finite number of cast and crew, so it would turn into a regular rotation of people coming or calling in--and keep in mind that they all live in different areas of the country--for discussions that are going to start sounding very similar.
It's a great idea, but I'm hoping we're providing enough insight through the various featurettes on the sets to fulfill your need for information!
Thanks!
Brian

It actually occurred to me, sometime after I posted, that Shout! has done an excellent job with doing featurettes consisting of interviews, etc. It gives each Box Set its own personality to have the Extras that you guys have been so kind to provide as content. I hope my stream of conciousness isn't misconstrued as some sort of dissatisfaction with Shout! product. You guys do a marvelous job releasing my favorite show on DVD; the Shout! sets are the pride of my A/V collection.
Totally understand the points you made there, makes perfect sense and it's kind of what I would have figured. Being a podcast nerd, as a I am, I always look forward to hearing new one's even if they cover the same old, same old. I'm weird that way.

Keep up the fantastic work!
