Member since: 7/5/2007 | | Slim DVD Cases over Digipacks and standard | | Alot of people probably won't agree with me but I like the slim Cases beeter than the Digipack or standard DVD Cases. The Reason. I tried to take out disc 1 from my Inspector Gadget DVD Set and the plastic part holding the Disc broke off And Standard DVD cases are also Bad. I went to the Mall and saw the whole Captain Harlock saga on DVD for 39.99 but one problem. I picked it up and the discs were loose this has happened with other shows as well even my Ys anime TMNT and DragonBall Z movies were loose and because of this I had them resurfaced Cause they were Loaded with scratches since some dumb people shake them too much. One set I was lucky was Waynes World. Disc 2 was lose but I was careful not to shake it as I left the store I opened it and It was fine. thats why I'm glad Shout puts them in slim cases so the Discs can't slip out and get scratched Thanks again! |

I would prefer standard cases to thinpack as well, like instead of having 2 or 3 thinpacks, have standards in a sleeve box like they did on Thundercats dvd boxsets. Slim cases are the cheapest thing to make thats really why the company uses them cause its cost efficient. And personally it doesnt bothe me to have to open up a digi-pack cause #1 I dont open them up on a regular basis(maybe some of you open them often), and #2 when i do open them up I know that I am going to see something a whole lot more visually impressive than anything i could find in a slim case. If anything slim cases are a lot thinner than standard or digipack, they can crack and break easier as well. It's a standard in the toons being sold on dvd nowdays, the more popular the show is, if it has a large fanbase it will be put in digi-pack, or standard cases in a box sleeve, the smaller the fanbases and the smaller the projected sales, the shows almost always get slim cases. BCI puts out a lot of digipack except for a few small fan base shows. COPS was the best packaging design Shout ever did, and right behind that was Zelda. |

Heck they did a great job for the James Bond DVD sets, much cleaner and smaller then the previous dvd sets. Its easy to come out and put in the dvd player. It may be weaker then the daddy version but as long as you take care of it and store it wisely, like i put mine in a plastic tub, it'll be just fine.

Member since: 1/12/2007 | | RE: Slim DVD Cases over Digipacks and standard | I own alot of dvds and games, its easier to store and my shelves are full. I have an expensive hobby. I been collecting since i was 3, people have their stamp collections, bug collection, picture collections......i have movies, video games, and books/comics (not much) collection. Believe me, 75% of what i own, i didnt pay retail value, plus i'm a eBay addict so that doesnt help much either.
But thats 20 years worth of collecting.
