SINCE info@shoutfactory.com & SINCE NOBODY ANSWERS OR RETURNS CALLS TO THEIR LA PHONE NUMBER - WHY NOT ANSWER HERE AND HELP ME GET REPLACED MY GROSSLY DEFECTIVE SEAON 1 OF SMALL WONDER SEASON 1 DISCS

THEY HAVE THE SAME HORRIBLE PROBLEM THAT MANY SONY TITLES HAVE HAD, ODD MILKY WHITE SPLOTCHES ON THE DV PLAYING SURFACE THAT MAKE THE DVDS UNPLAYABLE

WHY NOT SOMEONE FROM SHOUT ACTUALLY HELP, SINCE THEY IGNORE PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS

RE: Small Wonder DVD help
I know the name of the company is Shout! Factory, but that's no reason to actually shout on the boards. Try hitting the "Caps Lock" key and turning it off, hmm?

But to answer your question, it could take several days to get a response via email. (Please tell me the email wasn't all in caps, they might not respond if such was the case) I had a broken disc in the Mr. Belvedere season 4 set, and it was replaced very quickly, so just give it a bit of time and don't give up hope.

RE: Small Wonder DVD problems (now with less caps)
Uh... have you tried just cleaning the disc?

Some older DVDs, for example, have become cloudy over time because of the type of cases they're stored in. A Simple cleaning fixes 'em right up.

Did you try something that simple before panicking?

YOU CANT CLEAN THEM - IT IS LIKE GLUE OR SOMETHING - THE DVD PLAYERS WILL NOT READ IT  AND IF YOU TRY CLEAINING IT WITH THOSE SOFT CLOTHES IT SCRATCHES THE DISCS

AND I SEE BY NOBODY FROM SHOUT READING THIS / ANSWERING IT, THEY DO NOT GIVE A CRAP THAT THESE DEFECTIVES ARE OUT THERE

I bought a defective set of a TV Show one time from Walmart and just took it back to the store and got another copy of it. You have to get the same season of the same show since you've already opened it already of course and they will actually open your new copy in the store and look through it before giving it to you sometimes.  But you should go get a refund if you have your receipt.  Also one time I bought a season 1 of Roseanne and there were NO DISCS in it at all! Just empty slots where the discs were. Again , i just took it back and got another copy from them. Keep your Receipts for things people!

Number one, a few scratches aren't going to destroy a disc.

Number two, I just pulled out my Small Wonder S1 set. It had cloudy white splotches on the discs.

This is a common phenomenon with many older sets using Scanavo cases, and seemingly, the same type of cases were used for S1 of Small Wonder. The cases release gases that mix with the DVDs (IIRC), and it leaves a film on the discs. It's happened to plenty of old Sony sets, The Dick Van Dyke Show sets, some Paramount sets...

And there's a simple, cheap, easy solution to the problem that almost always works... CLEAN THE DISCS!

I just did that to one of mine. Soft cloth, some eyeglasses cleaner, and the discs play fine.

Now, if you'd like to keep complaining in all caps instead of fixing your problem by cleaning the discs, that is your option. However, if you'd like to actually watch the discs, clean them. Problem solved.

Oh, and maybe find some new cases to store 'em in after you clean 'em.

1 - THEY DID NOT PLAY AT ALLL WHEN I PUT THEM IN PLAYER WITH THE SPLOTCHES, SO THEY ARE DEFECTIVE  WHEN I CLEANED USING THE NICEST CLOTH IT SCRATCHED THEM AND THEY STILL DID NOT PLAT - OVER 10 SETS

SO WHY IS SHOUT USING GARBAGE CASES THEY ALREADY KNEW DAMAGED DVDS

AND WHY NO ANSWER FROM THEM ????????????????????????????????

I can say, definitively, that there is no defect with the Small Wonder DVDs.  In fact, what you're saying here is contrary to what our customer service reps have told me you said to them, which was that you didn't want to risk playing the DVD.

Cloudiness is embedded in plastic.  It's not a defect of the product.  Manufactured discs are not burned with lasers, but pressed.  So cloudiness will not prevent a laser from reading microscopic bumps and divots along its surface.

WRONG, I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT MILKY STUFF YOU SEE ON DVD'S BELOW THE SURFACE, I AM TALKING MILKY SPLOTCHES PEENY ZIES AND LARGER ON THE TOP OF THE DVD PLAYING SURFACE, NOT IMBEEDED INTO PLATIC,  HUGE DIFFERENCE
