The Power Team was a cartoon on the show Video Power featuring characters from Acclaim video games. They included:
The show also featured a cartoon version of the host of Video Power, Johnny Arcade, as they fought against villains from the Acclaim lineup, mainly Mr. Big from NARC, although Malkil from Wizards and Warriors occasionally appeared as well. The show seemed intended to capitalize on the audience of Captain N: The Game Master by having a real-world teenager lead a team of video game heroes, but took the opposite tact by having the game characters come to the real world. A common device on the show was the characters trying to recover the “game paks” from Mr. Big which would send them home. During battles, Johnny would use a special communication device that looked like an NES controller to direct the Power Team members from his room. A few of the characters underwent radical redesigns from their game incarnations: Max Force, for example, looked like a SWAT officer and had a utility belt instead of machine guns, and Kuros bore more of a resemblance to a barbarian than a knight in armor. The barbarian design was likely based on the fact that the cover artwork for each Wizard and Warriors games also featured a barbarian-like character instead of the game's knight in armor.
I have No idea who owns the Rights But I think it was A Dic show and Acclaim is gone now it did pretty well since it had 55 episodes. |

So even if it was a colossal flop it would still have a lot of episodes.

In all honesty, it was supposed to be a take-off of Captain N: The game master, if not a show that would compete with it. Was the show owned by Dic? Most likely. My only regret is that I can't find videos of it anywhere and I hope Shout Factory can think of something. However, if doing this requires unearthing the Video Power show, then something tells me that it may be an impossibility. |

Sorta a tribute to Captain N as both companies worked with DiC before (Saban with Inspector Gadget and Super Mario Bros Super Show, Bohbot with Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog).
Don't know who owns the rights to it though and I've never seen the show before (never aired where I come from). |
