Any date on when the final season will be released?? |

If so, I would expect the announcement to come pretty quickly as the season 8 announcement was pretty soon after season 7. Will be nice to have this series finished up.

The Bogus Bills episode is a riot! Hope they announce this soon after the release of Season 8. They have moved very quickly with this series. I hope they do it justice with the final season. |

Archie Bunker's Place had a great 3 part episode with Sally Struthers which led to her series Gloria. |

Member since: 8/31/2010 | | RE: All In The Family Season 9 | | There is a retrospective episode in season 9 which was the 200th episode of the series. It aired on 3-4-79. The description of the show (Lear introduces clips from past episodes and there are brief comments from the 100 couples (representing 48 states) who have been selected to attend the taping) is similar to the 20th Anniversary special that aired in 1991. So I wonder if the 20th Anniversary special was a retooled version of this particular episode in season 9. What is interesting to me that in my market (Chicago) and on TV Land / Nick at Nite, I don't recall this episode being shown. It is a 90 minute episode so that would've been split into three parts in syndication. I just don't know if it is part of the package at all. They do show the clip episode hosted by Henry Fonda. Looking forward to season 9. |

I only ask because, to be honest, AITF S9 is really more like season 0 of Archie Bunker's Place than it is All in the Family. And many of us have that one lonely season of ABP sitting on our shelves waiting for company. |

So even if it is an option, it may take a little while before you see any kind of announcement. I would imagine that, like anything, it's a wait-and-see kind of thing. If the demand appears to be there, you may very well see ABP released. But, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a deal that still needs to be worked out at some point down the road.

When TV Land ran them back in the late 90s early 00s they didn't have access to all episodes of the series, same as when our local channel here in Chicago ran them some time ago. I wouldn't think it would be the case but I'd wonder if there would be some issue with rights negotiation. Anybody else on the board here see the full run of ABP in their market?

Archie Bunker's Place did a great job of showcasing the actress who played Stephanie and dealing with Edith's death. There were terrific episodes dealing with other prevalent issues. I hope Shout will release them since the studio cheated the public once again. |

My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed Season 8 of All in the Family, thanks to your team and very, very eagerly await an announcement for Season 9.
I don't know if there's ever been or ever will be another series that I can watch literally dozens of times and not grow tired of the dialog.
Thanks again, Brian and Shout!

Anyway, AITF will soon be complete. Wonderful. Another Shout miracle show... from hopelessly abandoned to complete inside of a year (kind of like Dragnet). |

Ideally I would like to see them pick both up, but in all honestly I would probably only buy S2 of APB (just for the episode dealing with Edith's death) but I would buy ALL remaining seasons of The Jeffersons. The Jeffersons was way more popular than Archie Bunker's Place and it's a different type of show all together.

With AITF coming to an end, I'm sure everyone would collect Season 2 simply for the infamous season opener episode where we say goodbye to Edith Bunker. If Shout could acquire that season alone, I think they will find it is much sought-after by tv fans all over. |

Came across something I totally forgot about. There are two episodes, one called "Stephanies Birthday" and the other is "Stephanies Dance" which I believe are third season episodes. Anyway, in the BDay episode Billie gets Stephanie tickets for Devo and Archie refuses to let them go. In a mixup, he thinks they've disobeyed him and have gone to the concert and he gets arrested as part of a riot when he goes to Madison Square Garden to look for them. It was kind of a reworking of the 'Archie in the Lock-Up' episode. Anyhow, in this episode Stephanie is listening to a Blondie record (Rapture) at her BDay party. In the second episode they are dancing to Blondie's 'The Tide Is High' at their dance. Now if this comes out on DVD I'm assuming they would have to get music clearance for these songs or re-record them. In these cases, it wouldn't break my heart of the music was re-recorded. It made me think if in any other episodes of the series they used any contemporary music like that. Nothing that comes to mind as far as I can think.
