They've got a WHOLE LIBRARY OF UNDERRATED CARTOONS THAT WERE MADE BEFORE THE GULF-WESTERN AQUISTION (allthough Columbia and Terrytoons are really the rarest studio cartoons). Let's see....
From Paramount's Fleischer/Famous Studios/Puppetoons library comes:
Puppetoons/Madcap Models?
Noveltoons?
Color Classics?
Betty Boop?????
Screen Songs?
Modern Madcaps?
Animated Antics?
Inkwell Imps?
Little Audrey?
Baby Huey?
Casper the Friendly Ghost (the original)?
Kartunes?
Go Go Toons?
Swifty and Shorty?
Comic Kings?
Talkartoons?
Unearth these aging cartoons and restore them to Technicolor, Cincecolor, Polacolor, Magnacolor, and B&W glory!
Try splice back in the Paramount titles from UM&M negative cutting in the B&W shorts as hard as you can!
Reply if you want to share memories of any of these series!

Paramount's never really been one of them. There's a reason. Paramount doesn't really license their properties to third parties. But it could still happen.

Paramount's best classic work is owned by those companies. Also, the current home video rights for the pre-'50 shorts are sub-licensed to Lionsgate (not to be confused with MGM).
So pretty much you'd only have to license to use the Majestic Mountian.
But do give 'em credit in the covers and advertisements by putting in the Paramount print logo.
So, it could happen.

"Shout Factory is still in talks with columbia Universal doing cartoon related products. Not sure if they are in talk with Parmaount over Betty Boop (along with rest of the Fleischer/Famous library) or Terrytoons but my streem was shaky at when Jerry was discussing this so I could be wrong."

Member since: 6/18/2009 | | RE: The Paramount Cartoons Thread | The DVD rights to the Paramount cartoons in question have actually been licensed to Lionsgate (as part of the Republic Pictures package). Their usage of that library is pretty much limited to It's a Wonderful Life and various John Wayne films. It's doubtful that they realize that they even hold the DVD rights to the cartoons.
Whether that would make a potential acquisition easier or harder, I can't say. |

And as for you, B Ward, contact Paramount, CBS and Lionsgate.
And also the intellectual property owners (Harvey, Fleischer Studios Inc./KFS, Arnold Lebovit Entertainment)
Convince that we want uncut cartoons! |

I know many of these fans that would buy the cartoons they have never gotten the proper chance to see, I've surveyed them. |
