On our Own 1977-78 Bess Armstrong and Dixie Carter
I remember this show as a kid and it was really well written. It would be nice to see this on dvd too. It was on for one season but it was good.

I remember this but never got a chance to see it. I would love to, though, if only to see a younger Bess and Dixie.

This show must not have pulled in big enough ratings though it was sandwiched between Rhoda and All in the Family when it aired on CBS. I do remember the network gave it a lot of publicity and it was featured on all the local TV Guides, etc.

Very high quality show...I never understood why this didn't catch on, although I suppose it IS hard to stand out when you're leading into All In the Family. Character actress Gretchen Wyler was on this show as well.

Lynnie Greene who played young Dorothy in flashbacks on The Golden Girls was the other girl who starred with Bess Armstrong.

I saw some clips of this show and it was really good from what I seen. Hopefully with Amazon,Wb and now Sony MOD seems to be our only hope for some of these shows to get to dvd, evern dvd-r is fine with me.

I agree with you. While I would prefer factory-pressed DVDs on all my faves, I know that's not likely to happen on so many relatively obscure shows, so if MOD's the only way we'll get them, bring them on!

I have not seen this show since its original airing. I remember it having a very sophisticated quality. It was low-key and intelligent, and in a great time slot. I was in high school at the time and loved it, while one of my best friends hated it and thought it was boring. I guess more people thought as he did than as I did about the show! I have no idea what I would think about it if I saw it now.
