Warner's owns "Mama's Family" but the syndicated eps that plagued the Season 1 release made a lot of buyers cancel their pre-orders and say no to the set once word got out.

Apparently, they only own cut versions of Season 2 and only 3-6 would be complete versions. Joe Hamilton is rumored to own the uncut Season 2, but I am skeptical.

The other '80s sitcom I am waiting for is "It's a Living", if nothing else, Seasons 1&2 when it ran on ABC.

RE: 1980s Shows/Seasons I'd like to see released on DVD

It feel it was Warner Brother's own fault that they had angry fans over season 1's release of Mama's Family.  Without a doubt in my mind, they were flooded with emails and letters about releasing uncut episodes, but not once did WB make mention they didn't have the uncut episodes. So they deserved a "slap in the face" from fans after their unexpected "slap in the face" to fans with syndicated episodes.  Even though their excuse of not owning the uncut episodes was legit, it was also a cover up for them dropping the ball.  Had they mention that they didn't have the uncut releases and could only release the syndicated episodes, yeah, they may have lost some sales, but I seriously doubt it would have made a dent in their profits.  Since then, the show has been on TBS, ION, and CMT, and now is no longer on each channel. An April chat between WB and creators of TVShowsOnDVD.com, WB mentioned they were evaluating MF for seasons 2-6; they said the same thing last year.

I believe it would be a great show for SHOUT! to acquire, especially since there was a lot of "shouting" going on on that show.  It's obvious that WB has no interest in releasing more seasons, despite fans who are willing to take the syndicated episodes.  I wish they would quit BS-ing around and make a deal with SHOUT!  The show is too hilarious to be kept in the vault.  It should have been one of the first shows to be released.

Id like to see all of these released too. As for MF...WB said they would release season 2 but it would be edited episodes and asked fans if they were interested. I havent heard anything else.
