ELP
I recently "gave in" and re-purchased the first 4 reissues of the Emerson, Lake & Palmer catalog. Inside each cd case, there is a "flyer" stating that there are more ELP reissues on the way. Indeed there are even pictures of "Brain Salad Surgery" and "Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Ladies And Gentlemen, Emerson, Lake & Palmer" on the flyer. I can find evidence of "Welcome Back..." coming out in August of this year. August 7, 2007, to be exact. But NOWHERE can I find any mention of "Brain Salad Surgery" coming out. Can someone please enlighten me?

RE: ELP
I concur with your confusion.  I'm anxious also to know if Karn Evil 9 will be broken up into its constituent parts rather than formatted as a single 30 minute track, and ditto Emerson's Piano Concerto on Works Vol. 1.  I can see no rationale for not allowing listeners to move through the various parts and movements: every classical release I've ever bought divides distinct movements into distinct tracks.  I noticed that Tarkus in the new reissue is a single track, but in a way that makes sense: I've never understood where the various parts on that began and ended, and, in any case, that piece feels like one sustained composition.  But the three "Impressions" that constitute Karn Evil 9 are distinct compositions, joined together only in name, really.
