And since this is the 20th anniversary of the second ' made for tv' rock group, there's even a New Monkees reunion happening in LA in December! I thinik Warner Brothers owns the rights to botht he music and show.

I may be dating myself (as a young one), but The New Monkees was part of my childhood, and I remember tuning in specifically because I'd gotten hooked on the originals that were in repeats at the time. |

Here's the major problem with The New Monkees... Music. The cost of royalties alone would be too expensive, particularly when talking about a "band" no one even realized existed. They simply didn't take off the way the original Monkees did, so I'm afraid it's something we wouldn't even begin to be able to consider.

Member since: 1/5/2010 | | RE: 1987 The New Monkees? | | instead of the New Monkees,I would rather see the reunion special "hey hey IT'S the monkees" from 1996 released on dvd,last thing I heard is that Nesmith owns the rights to the special,maybe he could do commentary on it,also the documentary 'Hey hey WE'RE the Monkees" which was released on video in the late 90's should be released on dvd as well..there's also "heart and soul" a documentary from 1986 and a monkees christmas special from 86 and "Justus" another documentary from 96.maybe you could release a "monkees reunion box set" that features all there reunion stuff on it..then maybe consider the New Monkees after all those are released.. |
