For whatever reason that 20th Century FOX decided to only release a DVD of 13 episodes from the 1st & 2nd seasons, there is still a strong and loyal following of this dramatic series that won many awards and was a critically acclaimed success. It's unclear if the studios will ever release the remaining seasons (2-8) on DVD but based on viewer comments alone on Amazon's ordering page for the 1st volume, there certainly would be interest and demand for subsequent seasons. It's successor, "Boston Legal", has already had it's complete 5-season run produced and released on DVD.

The show's long run of syndication on the FX Network is coming to an end in September 2010. It would be perfect timing for someone at the Shout Factory to look into securing the rights and considering DVD releases of the show.

I'm nearly done re-watching the entire series of THE SOPRANOS and have been deciding which series to purchase and view next and kind of landed on THE PRACTICE.  Imagine my shock when, upon investigating my options, I learn that all that is available is some THE PRACTICE:VOLUME 1 nonsense, which contains the six episodes from season 1 and only 7 from season 2.  This kind of a release is pretty undesirable in my opinion.  By the way, this release was FOUR years ago.  If this sort of product sold poorly it would not surprise me....I know I wouldn't want to bother buying such an incomplete product.  I would hate to think this sold poorly and, based on that, a decision was made NOT to release later episodes/seasons.  They should release seasons 1 and 2 together (in entirety), and subsequent seasons individually OR, at the very least, release an entire series package.  I'd buy that!
